Specialist Intervention Coach

Location: Blackpool Light Lounge, 259 Whitegate Drive, Blackpool, FY3 9JL

Working Hours: 37 hours per week. The service is open 10am-10pm Monday - Sunday. A typical week would look like 9:30am-5:30pm Monday - Thursday, 9:30am-5pm on a Friday. However, flexibility is required to work outside of the typical hours, due to service need.
Contract Type: Fixed Term - Maternity Cover until 01/09/2027
Salary: £25,877.80 - £34,240.03 per annum

Please note that due to this post being maternity cover, the start date is expected to be in January 2027.

About the role:

To monitor, develop and share good practice across staff teams to ensure individuals and teams are better equipped to work with a greater range of challenging support needs. 

Key duties will include:

• To provide high quality intensive support using psychotherapeutic intervention and support the staff team in delivering these. 

• Work collaboratively with Lancashire Care Foundation Trust and Lancashire Teaching Hospital to support throughput into the service and achieve the required outcomes.  

• Work to deliver the guided intervention model and brief interventions for Waythrough as a requirement of the service expectations.  

• Seek to maximise multi agency approach for complex cases. 

• Have the autonomy and ability to make decisions pertaining to cases based upon expert knowledge, training and experience in Crisis services. 

• To provide strong and effective leadership in formulating support plans. 

• To ensure data entry to MI & reporting systems is accurate, timely and in line with quality assurance requirements. 

• To support the management of the ‘risk load’ within a given service/location including making recommendations to the Service Manager on whether there is capacity to manage additional risk when assessing Service Users, ensuring safe working practices are put in place to support the Service User appropriately. 

• To accept regular support and supervision from line manager. 

• To support and direct work of Crisis Recovery Workers, Peer Support and other Volunteers within Waythrough agreed policies and procedures. 

• To monitor caseloads of staff within the team and ensure all staff receive regular caseload management in order to maximize efficient use of staff time and to ensure appropriate support is provided.

About you:

• QCF in Health and Social Care, ideally level 3 or equivalent, or willingness to work towards.

• Good understanding of recovery and co-production.

• Significant understanding of Mental Health Issues.

• Substantial experience of work within a Housing and Social Care background.

• Substantial Experience is dealing with ‘high risk’ clients and managing resources effectively.

• Experience in carrying out investigations and writing reports and recommendations.

• Substantial experience in managing caseloads.  

• Good verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to manage conflicting demands and priorities on time.

• To be flexible to work around service need.
