Group/Division

The Semiconductor Products and Customers (Semi PC) business unit designs, builds and sells KLA’s product portfolio to help chip manufacturers meet high-quality standards for technologies like AI, data centers, automotive and electronic devices. Our inspection, metrology, and analytics systems detect and monitor defects across logic and memory chips, specialty semiconductors, wafers, reticles, advanced packaging, process equipment and materials. We also develop technologies for specialty processes, IC substrates, and PCB manufacturing, including etch and deposition, component inspection, and imaging and analytics. The RAPID division leads the industry in reticle inspection solutions, helping ensure high lithography yields and cost-effective semiconductor manufacturing. Its systems support both mask shops and fabs by detecting defects early in the process, enabling faster, more reliable production.

Are you excited about solving real-world engineering challenges and learning from experienced professionals? We’re looking for a curious and motivated Software Engineering Intern to join our team for Summer 2027.

In this role, you’ll get hands-on experience working with machine control and inspection software used in advanced mask inspection systems.

You’ll collaborate with engineers across disciplines — including electrical, mechanical, optical, algorithm, and software — to explore system-level solutions and contribute to meaningful projects.

Preferred Qualifications

• Must be in penultimate year of study, with graduation expected in 2028.

• Experience building apps in the C++ programming language.

• Exposure to scripting languages like Python or JavaScript.

• Interest in software design, data structures, and algorithms.

• Some experience or coursework involving multi-threaded or multi-process programming.

• Willingness to learn, collaborate, and contribute to team success.

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

• Graduation date and programming experience listed on resume.

• Familiarity with C++ programming.

• Basic understanding of Linux or experience using it in coursework or projects.

Total Rewards

Base Pay Range: $37.00 - $49.00 per hour based on pursuit of a Bachelors and Masters Primary Location: USA-CA-Milpitas-KLA
