Social Video Producer

You'll turn what we're building at Firecrawl into videos people want to watch and share. A founder with a strong take. A quick look at something new in the product. A moment with the team worth capturing. You'll find the story, come up with the concept, shoot it, edit it, and publish it. Then you'll look at how it performed and use that to make the next one better.

Your main focus is fast, natural short-form content made for social. You'll work mostly behind the camera, directing founders and teammates and bringing your own ideas to life, and occasionally help with more polished launch videos. You'll be based with us in San Francisco and travel to capture stories where they happen.

Salary Range: $148,000–$168,000 USD/year

Equity Range: Competitive equity. Details shared during the process.

Location: San Francisco, CA (SF HQ). On-site, five days a week. Travel required for shoots.

Job Type: Full-Time

Experience: 3+ years shooting, editing, and publishing short-form video, or a body of work that makes the case

Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States. We're not able to sponsor US visas right now, though that may change down the line.

About Firecrawl

Firecrawl is the easiest way to turn the web into data AI agents can use. One API call converts any URL into clean, LLM-ready markdown or structured data. It's the boring-hard problem everyone building with LLMs eventually hits, solved.

We hit 8 figures in ARR in year one and more than doubled it in year two. We have 180k+ GitHub stars, putting us in the top 50 repositories of all time, and developers, agents, and category-defining AI companies build on us every day. Growth like this is rare, and we're just getting started.

We're a small team punching far above our weight, working out of SF HQ and our new Toronto Hub. Everyone here owns a real piece of the product and company, end to end, and runs it themselves. No hiding behind process or headcount.

This is a place for people who want to work at the frontier: an AI company building the infrastructure other AI companies run on, not one bolting AI onto an existing product. We move fast, go deep, and are building the tools superintelligence will rely on to gather data from the web.

What You'll Do

  • Turn "we should make a video about that" into a video. Spot something worth sharing, get behind the camera, and take it through the edit to publishing. Find the hook, nail the pacing, and make the sound and captions work for the story

  • Develop recurring short-form formats around our founders, product, customers, and team that people come back for

  • Work with product and engineering to understand what we're building and find a clear, interesting way to show it. They'll help with technical details and complex demos; you'll bring the storytelling and production craft

  • Film in the office and on the road: launches, events, customer stories, conversations, and behind-the-scenes moments. Help people feel comfortable and natural on camera

  • Support larger launch videos when needed with footage, edits, or social cutdowns

  • Own the publishing calendar. Coordinate with the marketing team, prepare the copy and channel-specific versions, and get videos out while the story is still relevant

  • Track views, watch time, retention, shares, and audience growth. Share which hooks, topics, and formats connect, and use that to decide what to make next

What We're Looking For

  • You have strong instincts for story, hooks, and pacing. You can spot a good moment and turn it into something someone else cares about

  • You can run a lean shoot yourself: camera, sound, lighting, and directing. You're comfortable using a phone when it suits the idea

  • You can take footage through a finished edit, including clean audio, captions, and color grading as needed. Use whatever tools help you do your best work, AI included

  • You're curious about what we're building. You ask good questions and can work with teammates to turn unfamiliar ideas into clear stories. Familiarity with Firecrawl, open source, or developer tools helps, but it isn't required

  • You've done this for real. You've filmed founders, customers, or events, or grown a recurring video series, and you can show the results. Motion graphics and animated product demos are a plus

Backgrounds that often do well: in-house video producers at startups or developer tools companies, social video leads who've grown a recurring series, documentary or news shooters who moved into short-form, one-person production teams who've done every job on a shoot.

What We're NOT Looking For

  • Editors who wait for someone else to find the story and hand them the footage

  • Producers who need a crew, a studio, and a two-week timeline to ship a 60-second video

  • Anyone who'd rather debate polish than look at what people actually watched, finished, and shared

A Note On Pace

We operate at an absurd level of urgency because the window for what we're building won't stay open forever. If that excites you, keep reading. If it doesn't, no hard feelings, but this role probably isn't for you.

Interview Process

Application Review: Send us three videos you're proud of. For each, tell us the idea, who it was for, and what you personally owned. Share results if you have them, plus one thing you'd change if you made it again. Add a short note on why Firecrawl and one video idea you'd be excited to make here. We care about the work, not where you went to school.

Intro Chat (~25 min): A quick conversation to get to know each other before we go deep. We'll talk about what you've been making, what drew you to Firecrawl, and what you're looking for in your next role. Time for your questions too.

Story Chat (~45 min): We'll pick something real from our world (a product update, a founder take, a customer story) and talk through how you'd turn it into a video: the hook, the format, how you'd shoot it lean, and how you'd know if it worked. Come ready to think out loud. We care how you find the story, not whether you know our product yet.

Founder Chat (~25 min): A conversation with Eric, our Chief Growth Officer and the person you'd report to. Culture, pace, ownership, and how you like to work. Time for your questions too.

Paid Work Trial (~40 Hours): Make a real video with us, from concept to published, paid at a contractor rate. It's the truest signal for both sides. You see what making things at Firecrawl actually feels like, and we see how you work. The edit can happen from wherever you are, and we'll flex around your current commitments.

Decision: We move fast after the trial.

If you want to turn what we're building into videos people actually want to watch and share, you should join us.
