What is The Role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Integrations Platform team and build the tools that make engineers' lives easier, both when they're building integrations and when they're pulling data together to actually make sense of it. This role is about developer experience: understanding what developers actually struggle with day to day, and building tools that remove that friction so they can move faster and get more done.
The Integrations Platform team owns the tooling that supports how integrations get built, deployed, and understood. That includes infrastructure and deployment tooling built on Terraform, telemetry pipelines running through BigQuery, and the AI-driven tools and evaluations we use to interpret that data and turn it into something people can actually act on. You'll build and maintain these tools, listen closely to the engineers who rely on them, and take ownership of projects that span infrastructure, telemetry, and AI-assisted data interpretation, from first idea to shipped result.
This is fast-moving, often ambiguous work. We are looking for someone who is comfortable operating without a fixed spec, listens thoughtfully, and collaborates well across teams. You should drive effectively toward outcomes while supporting your teammates, bring clear ideas on what should be built, care about the developers using your tools, and feel equally comfortable working independently or alongside product teams and partners.
Prior experience with the Elastic product suite isn't required, but it helps.
What you will be doing:
- Lead green-field initiatives that shape the future of the developer experience for building and maintaining Security Integrations
- Architect and drive the tooling and automation strategy, leveraging Gen AI to solve problems at scale rather than one-off fixes
- Set a collaborative tone for the team by fostering open communication, mutual respect, and thoughtful decision-making, while mentoring engineers along the way
- Represent the team in the open, working closely with Security and Ingest teams, Elastic users, and the broader open source community to shape direction and build trust
What you bring:
- Experience building and running evals for AI systems at scale, with a strong sense of measuring output quality and catching regressions
- Strong proficiency in Python and Go, with hands-on Terraform for infrastructure and deployment, and BigQuery for telemetry and data analysis
- Proven ability to run projects end to end with autonomy, alongside the judgment to bring others along and seek input when needed
Bonus Points:
- Production experience with the general Elastic ingest model
- Experience in cybersecurity
- Experience parsing logs and events, ideally with exposure to OpenTelemetry, ECS, or OCSF in a security or observability context
Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary. This role does not have a variable compensation component. The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below.
These ranges represent the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the ranges may be modified in the future.
An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Therefore, in addition to cash compensation, this role is currently eligible to participate in Elastic's stock program.
