This role is in our Austin, TX office with a hybrid schedule of 4 days on-site and 1 day work from home.

We are currently seeking a full-time Senior Software Engineer focused on AI-driven product development, modern React applications, and practical large language model (LLM) integration. As a senior member of the Land.com engineering team, you will design, build, and support highly performant web applications and AI-enabled experiences that help drive the growth of our Land.com business unit. The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering fundamentals with hands-on experience applying AI-assisted development workflows, integrating LLM capabilities into production systems, and delivering reliable, scalable customer-facing solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, support, and maintain production web applications using React, TypeScript, CSS, JavaScript, C#, .NET, and SQL.
  • Lead the development of AI-enabled product features that integrate LLM capabilities into existing business workflows, user experiences, and application services.
  • Apply senior-level engineering judgment to evaluate where AI creates meaningful customer or operational value and where traditional software solutions are more appropriate.
  • Design and implement LLM integration patterns such as prompt orchestration, structured outputs, tool or API calling, fallback handling, and guardrails.
  • Assist in establishing practices for AI-assisted and LLM-powered features, reliability, latency, cost, and user safety.
  • Analyze technical requirements and design new components, services, web pages, and controls that meet functional, performance, scalability, availability, and maintainability requirements.
  • Apply software design patterns, SOLID principles, secure coding practices, and sound quality management methods to create reusable, maintainable, well-tested application software.
  • Mentor engineers on modern development practices, AI-assisted engineering workflows, code quality, testing strategy, and responsible use of LLM tooling.
  • Create thorough unit, integration, and functional test coverage for the software and AI-enabled features you own.
  • Develop and maintain SQL database scripts, application data access patterns, and supporting services required by product features.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited, in-person, not for profit university or college.
  • A track record of commitment to prior employers.
  • 6+ years of professional software development experience in production environments, including ownership of complex systems or product features.
  • Hands-on experience with React, TypeScript, JavaScript ES6+, C#, .NET, and SQL.
  • Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools and workflows to improve engineering productivity, code quality, testing, documentation, or delivery speed.
  • Experience integrating LLM APIs or AI services into application code, including prompt design, structured outputs, error handling, and production monitoring.
  • Experience with software testing practices such as unit, integration, functional, regression, and performance testing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SOLID principles, design patterns, API design, and scalable application architecture.
  • Experience working within Kanban-oriented engineering teams with strong collaboration across product, design, QA, and engineering stakeholders.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical decisions, risks, tradeoffs, and implementation plans within and across teams.
  • Ability to lead work independently, mentor other engineers, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality outcomes with minimal supervision.

Preferred Skills:

  • Self-starter with a strong product mindset and a desire to solve business problems with the help of others.
  • Deep understanding of React architecture, component design, state management, accessibility, and performance optimization.
  • Experience architecting systems using C#, .NET, SQL, REST APIs, and service-oriented application patterns.
  • Experience with Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines, code review practices, and automated quality gates.
  • Experience with Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, cloud services, or other search and retrieval technologies.
  • Familiarity with responsible AI practices, secure AI integration, data privacy considerations, and guardrails for customer-facing AI features.
