Overview
Want to build products that sit at the heart of how money moves? We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help build and scale the technology powering Breeze.
As our first senior engineer in our New York City office, you will be hands-on role with real ownership. You’ll tackle complex engineering challenges, ship products customers rely on every day, and help shape technical decisions as we scale. You’ll work across the stack, partner closely with Product and Design, and have plenty of white space to improve how we build.
We’re looking for an engineer who combines strong technical judgment with a product mindset. Someone who moves fast, cares deeply about quality, and gets excited about turning complex payments problems into simple, reliable experiences.

What You’ll Do
- Build and scale the core payment systems that power Breeze, with a focus on reliability, security, and performance
- Ship high-quality customer experiences using React.js and modern serverless infrastructure
- Own meaningful features end to end, from technical design and architecture through launch and iteration
- Shape both the product and the technology, bringing an engineering perspective to product decisions and influencing what we build next
- Partner closely across Product, Design, Operations, and other teams to turn complex payment challenges into simple, scalable solutions
- Help raise the engineering bar by improving how we build, move quickly, and scale our systems as Breeze grow
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, ideally in fintech, payments, or a fast-paced startup environment
- Strong experience with modern frontend development, including React.js or similar frameworks and technologies
- Proven ability to own and deliver complex features and systems, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Deep understanding of building scalable, reliable systems, with exposure to cloud-based or serverless infrastructure
- A product-focused mindset with a passion for building thoughtful, high-quality experiences that solve real customer problems
- Strong communicator who collaborates effectively across Engineering, Product, Design, and other cross-functional teams
- A builder mentality with the curiosity, adaptability, and ownership needed to thrive in a fast-moving startup
- Experience with cryptocurrency or blockchain is a plus
Our Compensation Philosophy!
The annual base salary range for this role is $155,000-$180,000 in New York. This range represents the minimum and maximum annual base salary that Breeze, in good faith, expects to pay for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including a candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications.
For candidates outside of New York, compensation will be based on the applicable market and location-based pay range.
The base salary range listed excludes commission (if applicable), equity, and benefits.

In-Office Expectations
Employees based in our New York City, NY office follow a hybrid work model and are expected to work from the office three days per week. Employees based in our Singapore office are expected to work on-site five days per week.
In-office expectations may vary slightly depending on role, team, and business needs. Certain roles that require closer cross-functional collaboration or operational support may have additional requirements, which will be discussed during the interview process.
