About ACC Echuca

ACC Echuca, is located at Echuca, Victoria, and is a P-11, co-ed, Christian school with Year 12 being added in 2027.

About the Role

ACC Echuca is seeking to appoint a full-time Christian Senior Secondary Teacher to join our growing school. As our senior secondary program continues to expand, we welcome applications from passionate and capable teachers with the ability to teach VCE and other secondary school subjects. The successful candidate will need to have the capacity to:

  • Actively lead the Christian formation of students;
  • Actively lead in delivering Pastoral Care from a genuine Christian faith;
  • Contribute to an inclusive approach to learning and a cross cultural understanding in our students;
  • Develop an approach to education that is biblically grounded, Christ focused, culturally engaging, and academically rigorous. Preference would be given to teachers familiar with an Explicit Instruction model of teaching;
  • Teach the prescribed curriculum within a conducive learning environment to develop student’s interests, skills and abilities; and
  • Contribute to the school community by participating in staff meetings, extra-curricular tasks, and liaising with parents where appropriate.

  • Child safety is a shared responsibility. Every person involved in our school has an important role in promoting child safety and wellbeing and promptly raising any issues or concerns about a child’s safety.
  • We are committed to regularly reviewing our child safe practices, and seeking input from our students, families, staff, and volunteers to inform our ongoing strategies.

As a part of your application, you must read and support the Child Safety & Wellbeing Policy and the Child Safety Code of Conduct.

Core Responsibilities & Duties

  • Plan and implement a range of teaching programs or courses of study;
  • Have the content knowledge and pedagogical practice to meet the diverse needs of all students;
  • Demonstrate a commitment to improving professional practice through coaching and professional development
  • Provide a child safe environment in accordance with the child safe standards;
  • Participate in child safety and wellbeing induction and training provided by the school and always follow the school’s child safety and wellbeing policies and procedures;
  • Act in accordance with our Child Safety Code of Conduct;
  • Identify and raise concerns about child safety issues in accordance with our Child Safety Responding and Reporting Obligations Policy and Procedures, including following the Four Critical Actions for Schools;
  • Ensure students’ views are taken seriously and their voices are heard about decisions that affect their lives;
  • Model and promote the vision and values of the school;
  • Teach an area of the curriculum;
  • Maintain records of class attendance and recording student progress;
  • Implement effective student management consistent with the school’s strategic plan;
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings as required;
  • Be actively involved in regular staff devotions and prayer.

Requirements

About You

  • You have a relevant bachelor degree and any other relevant teaching qualifications (i.e. Masters of Education).
  • You have at least 2 years relevant teaching experience.
  • You are passionate about impacting students’ minds and hearts and for providing a safe, supportive learning environment.
  • You are highly relational and committed to a holistic view of teaching and of student welfare.
  • You are keen to collaborate with colleagues in developing and implementing teaching and learning programs.
  • You have a servant heart and vibrant Christian faith.
