Über diese Senior Product Designer Stelle bei Instructure, Inc.
At Instructure, we believe in the power of people to grow and succeed throughout their lives. Our goal is to amplify that power by creating intuitive products that simplify learning and personal development, facilitate meaningful relationships, and inspire people to go further in their education and careers.
We do this by giving smart, creative, passionate people opportunities to create awesome. And that's where you come in:
The Role
Instructure's assessment platform serves millions of educators and learners across K-12, higher education, and career segments. The platform is unifying multiple legacy products onto a modern foundation — a shift that changes not just what's built but how it's designed. This role owns design for features within one of its product areas as that foundation takes shape.
We're seeking a Senior Product Designer accountable for end-to-end design quality, independent user research, and experimentation across their features. They work through ambiguous problems with minimal guidance, deliver validated solutions, and connect design decisions to long-term product vision.
This is a hands-on IC role. You're the design voice for your features within the product trio, from first exploration through to what ships.
This is a high-autonomy environment. Leadership sets outcomes; you determine how to achieve them and communicate your direction proactively. You're accountable for the quality and impact of your design work, including the work AI helped produce.
You'll work hybrid on a distributed team, with occasional days in our Budapest office.
What You'll Do
Own end-to-end design for features across the assessment experience — creating, delivering, and grading assessments and reading the results — producing mobile-first solutions that build on the design system, meet accessibility standards, and scale for future needs
Research how educators and learners work with assessments, running your own studies and partnering with UX Research to turn findings into design decisions
Explore diverse directions for how your features should work as they move onto the unified platform, building functional prototypes with AI and testing them with educators and learners before the team commits to one
Design for an institutional customer base with rigid adoption cycles, redesigning workflows that school districts and universities have built their teaching around so changes land without breaking educators' trust
Trace how your design decisions affect related parts of the platform as it unifies, and resolve the knock-on effects early
Partner with Product and Engineering within the product trio, shipping iteratively and gaining alignment through design reviews and critique
Define success metrics with your Product partner and track usage, sentiment, and experiment results to show what your work changed for educators and learners
What You Bring
Required
Five or more years of product design experience shipping SaaS products, with a portfolio demonstrating end-to-end UX and UI work
Track record of taking ambiguous problems to validated solutions with minimal guidance
Craft across interaction and visual design, with an eye for how each feature fits the experience around it
Build-to-learn approach to design, with functional prototypes that answer questions early
Experimentation mindset, with the range to explore diverse directions, the judgment to pick the right test, and the candor to report inconclusive results
Hands-on research experience across qualitative and quantitative methods, with a clear read on how far your evidence goes
AI-first approach to product design, deciding task by task whether AI fits and owning what it produces
Communication that ties design rationale to the outcomes it's meant to move and keeps product decisions anchored in users' needs
Fluency in English
Preferred
EdTech, assessment, or learning platform experience
Experience redesigning established workflows for users who can't absorb disruption
Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG)
Background working across distributed teams and time zones
