Join BMO's IT Engineering & Operations team and play a key role in supporting and evolving our Digital Library suite of applications.

We're looking for a highly skilled Infrastructure Specialist who thrives in complex enterprise environments and enjoys solving challenging technical problems across Linux, Windows, middleware, networking, cloud, and automation technologies.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, supporting, and optimizing critical infrastructure platforms while partnering closely with application teams, security specialists, vendors, and business stakeholders. You'll have the opportunity to work with modern infrastructure technologies, drive automation initiatives, strengthen platform reliability, and contribute to the continuous evolution of BMO's technology landscape.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, deploy, and maintain enterprise infrastructure solutions supporting critical Digital Library applications.
• Serve as a technical expert for Linux, Windows, middleware, clustering, networking, and virtualization technologies.
• Monitor platform health and proactively identify opportunities to improve stability, performance, and resiliency.
• Diagnose and resolve complex server, network, storage, and application infrastructure issues.
• Manage production releases, platform upgrades, patches, and vulnerability remediation activities.
• Implement and support high-availability and disaster recovery solutions.
• Collaborate with application development, security, architecture, and operations teams to deliver reliable technology solutions.
• Drive infrastructure automation and operational efficiency through scripting and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
• Administer middleware platforms, including IBM WebSphere Application Server and related technologies.
• Participate in infrastructure modernization initiatives, cloud adoption, and Digital First transformation programs.
• Support production environments through scheduled maintenance, deployments, and on-call rotations.
• Ensure infrastructure solutions meet BMO security, compliance, risk management, and operational standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5-7 years of enterprise infrastructure experience
• Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline
• Experience supporting highly available enterprise production environments
• Experience with cloud-enabled infrastructure and automation frameworks
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities

Additional Information

📍 Hybrid Work Model: This role requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.

🔄 Operational Support: Participation in an on-call rotation is required. Occasional evening and weekend deployments and support activities are expected as part of maintaining critical production services.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
