What You Will Do
• Identify areas for improvement and ensure measurable implementation.
• Help reduce standard hours and implement automation to lower parts costs.
• Analyze and evaluate existing systems and processes, identifying value-added and non-value-added activities to solve design challenges.
• Evaluate and explore new and existing processes, equipment and materials as inputs to scheduling methods, performance metrics and financial standards.
• Develop the overall continuous improvement strategy at the site level using CORE tools.
• Assist the General Manager in preparing activities for annual targets structured around the Policy Deployment methodology.
• Develop and present Cost and Continuous Improvement strategies to Senior Management across various communication forums.
• Prepare the site for CORE Office assessments.
• Serve as the site’s primary point of contact with the CORE Office.
• Represent the site at the Singapore CORE Council.
• Lead continuous improvement programmes and CORE activities within the company.
• Manage and conduct employee training for productivity improvement projects, and mentor fellow engineers and technicians.
• Coordinate and administer internal and external technical training programmes to ensure compliance with FAR 145.163 and other applicable airworthiness authority requirements.
• Support and participate in the company’s EH&S programmes and activities.
• Report all incidents, including injuries, illnesses, near misses and spills, as well as hazardous conditions and emergencies, to the supervisor.
• Help build a strong continuous improvement culture.
Qualifications You Must Have
• Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• Minimum three years of working experience managing cost-reduction programmes and continuous improvement activities, such as EH&S, Lean and Kaizen, within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of CORE tools and techniques, with active participation in CORE activities.
