Job Summary
Ciena India Private Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions for our cutting-edge networking products. This role demands a strong understanding of routing protocols, cloud technologies, and a collaborative approach to ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable software.

Job Responsibilities
* Lead the design and implementation of robust and scalable automation frameworks and test cases using Agile methodologies.
* Develop and execute automated test scripts for various networking features, including those involving DHCP, PON and other protocols.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, QA, and product management, to define test strategies and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
* Analyze test results, identify defects, and work closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
* Utilize tools like Wireshark for network traffic analysis and debugging during test execution.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of automation processes, tools, and best practices.
* Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the team.
* Effectively communicate technical information, both written and oral, to diverse audiences.
* Manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently, demonstrating strong time management skills.
* Actively participate in design reviews and provide feedback on product architecture and testability.

Job Qualifications
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
* 7+ years of experience in automation engineering, with a strong focus on networking products.
* Proven expertise in Agile Methodology and its application in software development lifecycles.
* In-depth understanding of Cloud Technology concepts and experience with cloud-based testing environments.
* Hands-on experience with networking protocols such as DHCP and solid grasp of network security protocols.
* Proficiency in Test Case Design and Test Case Development.
* Strong debugging skills, with practical experience using tools like Wireshark.
* Excellent Oral Communications and Written Communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly.
* Demonstrated ability to foster Collaboration within a team and across departments.
* Proven track record of Innovation in developing automation solutions.
* Exceptional Time Management skills, capable of prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
