This open position is for Armanino India LLP, which is located in India. Armanino India LLP is a fully owned subsidiary of Armanino (USA).
Responsibilities
- Review customer contracts, amendments, Statements of Work (SOWs), and commercial arrangements to determine appropriate revenue recognition under ASC 606.
- Analyze performance obligations, transaction pricing, variable consideration, contract modifications, and revenue allocation methodologies.
- Prepare and maintain revenue recognition memos and supporting documentation.
- Partner with Revenue Operations and business leaders to ensure accurate contract setup and revenue accounting treatment.
- Support monthly and quarterly revenue close activities, including revenue reconciliations and analysis.
- Review WIP, deferred revenue, unbilled revenue, and contract asset and liability balances for reasonableness and compliance.
- Assist with accounting for international revenue arrangements and multi-entity service delivery models.
- Research and document accounting conclusions for non-routine, complex, and unusual transactions.
- Prepare technical accounting memorandums supporting accounting positions under US GAAP.
- Assist with implementation and interpretation of new accounting standards.
- Support accounting analysis related to mergers and acquisitions, purchase accounting, revenue arrangements, internal reorganizations, new business initiatives, and strategic partnerships.
- Coordinate with auditors regarding technical accounting matters.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules related to revenue and technical accounting areas.
- Assist with external audit requests and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting standards.
- Support preparation of financial statement disclosures related to revenue and technical accounting matters.
- Collaborate closely with Revenue Operations, Finance Business Partners, FP&A, Legal, Procurement, Corporate Accounting, and external auditors.
- Provide accounting guidance and training to operational stakeholders.
- Participate in process improvement, automation, and system implementation initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve revenue accounting workflows and internal controls.
- Assist with implementation and optimization of Workday, reporting tools, and revenue-related systems.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, SOPs, and documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CA, CPA, CPA-equivalent, or progress toward certification preferred.
- 5-8 years of accounting experience.
- 3 or more years of experience in technical accounting, revenue accounting, audit, or financial reporting.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606 Revenue Recognition, financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, and internal controls.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Public accounting experience with a Big Four or national accounting firm.
- Experience in professional services, consulting, SaaS, managed services, or technology organizations.
- Experience with Workday, BlackLine, Adaptive Planning, Power BI, or revenue management systems.
- Exposure to M&A accounting and technical accounting research.
- Deliver timely and accurate accounting conclusions for complex transactions.
- Ensure compliance with ASC 606 across new and existing revenue arrangements.
- Support a clean external audit with minimal findings.
- Improve revenue reconciliation and close processes.
- Build strong partnerships across Accounting, Operations, and leadership teams.
- Contribute to automation and scalability initiatives supporting global growth.
