The successful candidate will operate as the marketing “CMO” for both accounts—bringing together category, sales, media, content, insights and agency partners around a single growth plan. The role requires strong commercial judgment, deep understanding of digital commerce and retail, and the ability to navigate two distinct business models: Amazon’s data-driven digital marketplace and Costco’s highly curated, membership-based retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
Own the integrated annual marketing strategy and plan for Amazon and Costco, aligned with HP’s category, sales and financial priorities.
Serve as the primary marketing partner to the Amazon and Costco sales teams and retailer marketing organizations.
Translate customer, shopper and competitive insights into clear account growth opportunities.
Build differentiated strategies for each retailer:
Amazon: drive discoverability, traffic, conversion, content excellence, ratings and reviews, retail media effectiveness and tentpole execution.
Costco: strengthen member value propositions, support curated assortment and innovation launches, and create compelling online and in-warehouse experiences.
Lead cross-category planning across Consumer PCs, Gaming, Print hardware and Supplies, identifying opportunities to present one connected HP portfolio.
Develop joint business and marketing plans with each account, including objectives, investment priorities, activation calendars and success metrics.
Partner with Category, Sales, Media, Omni, Content, Insights, Finance and Operations teams to deliver coordinated execution.
Lead major product launches, seasonal moments and retailer-specific programs from strategy through execution.
Own account marketing investment recommendations and ensure budgets are focused on the highest-impact growth opportunities.
Establish clear measurement frameworks connecting marketing activity to traffic, conversion, revenue, share, profitability and brand outcomes.
Monitor performance and market dynamics, identifying risks and rapidly adjusting plans when needed.
Influence senior internal and external stakeholders through clear, commercially grounded recommendations.
Champion innovation, experimentation and the responsible use of AI to improve shopper experiences and marketing effectiveness.
Success Measures
Revenue, market-share and profitability performance across Amazon and Costco.
Growth in qualified traffic, discoverability and conversion.
Improved content quality, ratings and reviews, and digital shelf execution.
Effectiveness and return on retail media and account marketing investments.
Strength and quality of joint planning with Sales and retailer partners.
Successful execution of launches, tentpole moments and integrated cross-category programs.
Increased collaboration and alignment across HP’s category and functional teams.
Qualifications
Significant experience in retail, e-commerce, shopper marketing, account marketing or category management.
Demonstrated success managing large, complex retail or digital-commerce partners; direct Amazon or Costco experience is strongly preferred.
Strong commercial orientation with the ability to connect marketing actions to business outcomes.
Deep understanding of retail media, digital shelf fundamentals, shopper journeys and conversion drivers.
Experience leading integrated, cross-functional programs across multiple product categories.
Strong analytical skills and comfort using data to identify opportunities, set priorities and evaluate performance.
Excellent executive communication, influencing and stakeholder-management skills.
Ability to balance long-term strategy with fast, disciplined execution.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience; advanced degree preferred.
Leadership Profile
This role requires a proactive, highly collaborative leader who can simplify complexity, challenge established thinking and create clarity across a broad stakeholder network.
