Sentara is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) at Sentara Norfolk General's Step-Down Unit in Norfolk, Virginia.

Sign on Bonus up to $15,000 offered for qualified candidates. Relocation packages available!

Shift: Full Time, Permanent Weekend DAYS (7a-7p) Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon.

Unit Overview:

Join the nursing team that is enjoying a beautiful, brand new 24 bed Medicine unit with new computers in every room and charting stations in hallways with windows to visualize patients! Blood pressure machines that talk with EPIC as Real Time Documentation. Patient population is cardiac, cardiac prep, renal failure, vascular, sepsis, pneumonia, sickle cell, OR-Prep, and diverse wound care.  Great unit to make your way into ICU or the ED!

Overview

​The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

All Direct Care RN's required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.

Education

• RN Degree REQUIRED

Certification/Licensure

• Virginia RN License REQUIRED
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within 90-days of hire

Experience

• Prior RN experience PREFERRED

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $41.93 - $61.01 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
