This will be up to 36 hours a week. No weekends or holidays are required, as well as no call. There will need to be flexibility capabilities on weeks we do not have a full week of surgeries. Experience is preferred for the preop/surgical setting. Requirements will include verifying patient is ready for their surgery prior to going back, both from a surgeon and anesthesia standpoint. Must be a confident communicator to both the staff and patients to ensure patients anxieties are at ease and that all requirements are met for the patient to go back for their surgery/procedure.

Are you looking for more variety in your day-to-day duties?  Want a steady-paced job without the weekend, call, and holiday requirements?  Look no further!  At Atrium Health Denver Surgery Center, we strive to create an environment where learning continues every day.  Our new full-time preoperative nurse position will include working in the areas of preop, with the potential to assist in recovery, endoscopy, and the OR.  Our patient population consists of adult GYN, general, sports medicine, and endoscopy, as well as pediatric dental cases.  You name it, you will get to see it and learn it!  Experience in at least preop are preferred, but experience in all areas is an added bonus.  Must be proficient in starting IV's, as well as good communication skills with both adults and pediatric patients.  Caring for our surgical/procedural population will provide our nursing team with a robust and diverse skillset that gives nurses confidence in any setting.  We encourage the pursuit of Clinical Ladder Advancement, professional certification, and strive to grow a strong unit culture of teamwork, commitment, integrity, and caring.  

 We’re Looking For: 

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing 

• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices 

• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association  
• ACLS preferred
• PALS preferred
