Are you a survey professional who is working toward your PLS and ready to take the next step in your career? Do you enjoy transforming field data into accurate survey deliverables, solving complex boundary and title challenges, and supporting projects that shape communities and infrastructure?
Atwell is seeking a Project Surveyor to join our growing Reno team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an LSIT or CST certification who wants to work alongside experienced survey leaders, strengthen their technical expertise, and gain exposure to a diverse portfolio of land development, infrastructure, utility, renewable energy, and transportation projects.
You'll play a key role in delivering survey projects from data processing through final mapping while receiving mentorship and support on your path toward professional licensure.
What You'll Do
- Process field survey data, LiDAR, and 3D point cloud data to create high-quality survey deliverables.
- Develop boundary, topographic, site, and ALTA/NSPS surveys using Civil 3D and related survey software.
- Prepare surfaces, contours, utility mapping, and site feature exhibits.
- Research deeds, title commitments, easements, and public records to support boundary determinations.
- Draft legal descriptions and easement exhibits.
- Perform quality reviews of survey plats, drawings, and project deliverables.
- Calculate and prepare stakeout information, alignments, and construction survey deliverables.
- Collaborate closely with field crews, project managers, and survey leadership to ensure project success.
- Assist with project planning, task coordination, scheduling, and quality management.
- Contribute to a team culture focused on technical excellence, continuous learning, and professional growth.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field - NOT REQUIRED
- LSIT certification preferred.
- CST Level II or III certification preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Civil 3D and survey drafting workflows.
- Experience processing survey field data and preparing survey mapping deliverables.
- Understanding of boundary surveying principles, title research, and legal descriptions.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Desire to learn, grow, and continue progressing toward professional licensure.
