The Pediatric Translational Neuroscience Initiative (PTNI) at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is an expansive and multicomponent initiative in translational neuroscience with a mission to understand and treat catastrophic childhood neurological disease. The PTN-CRN seeks a Program Manager who will be foundational in helping to establish and build the network. The Program Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management, strategic coordination, and operational execution of the PTN-CRN in close collaboration with the Director of the PTN-CRN. This individual will also work closely with the PTN-CRN Steering Committee Chair, the Office of Strategy & Alliances (OSA), Clinical Trials Administration, Data Sciences, Legal, and other institutional partners. With guidance from the Director, the Program Manager will work across St. Jude departments, PTNI programs, network members and, when appropriate, other institutions and external collaborators to establish and maintain the infrastructure, governance, and processes necessary for successful PTN-CRN operations.

The Program Manager serves as the primary operational point of contact for internal and external Network members and is responsible for coordinating governance activities and managing programmatic budgets and contracts. The Program Manager will collaborate on internal and external communications, patient and community engagement, and ensuring alignment of Network activities with PTNI strategic priorities. The position requires exceptional program management expertise, stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to navigate complex academic, clinical, and research environments.

What You'll Do

  • Network operations
    • Lead the operational development and implementation of the PTN-CRN.
    • Build and maintain the infrastructure required to support a multi-institutional clinical research network.
    • Transform strategic concepts into executable operational plans and oversee implementation.
    • Manage network operations to ensure achievement of program goals and milestones.
  • Governance and Coordination
    • Coordinate development, maintenance, and implementation of governance documents and policies.
    • Organize and facilitate Steering Committee meetings, including agenda development, meeting logistics, documentation of decisions, and preparation of meeting summaries.
    • Support governance processes related to review and approval of research proposals.
  • Stakeholder and Member Engagement
    • Coordinate activities among all network members and participating institutions.
    • Foster productive relationships across diverse stakeholders with varying interests and objectives.
    • Align institutional resources and stakeholder contributions to advance network goals.
  • Program Administration and Project Management
    • Develop annual reports and quarterly leadership updates.
    • Maintain databases and tracking tools for members, research projects, publications, and network activities.
    • Coordinate contracts, budgets, and administrative processes under the guidance of the PTN-CRN Director.
    • Apply program and project management methodologies to ensure effective execution and accountability.
  • Communications and Knowledge Management
    • Develop written materials, reports, presentations, and program updates.
    • Coordinate with OSA to support communications, publications, and presentations highlighting network achievements and activities.
    • Maintain accurate records of network membership, research activities, publications, and outcomes.
    • Facilitate information sharing among network Members.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, life sciences, public health, business administration, clinical research, neuroscience, or a related field required.
  • Master's degree (MPH, MBA, MHA, MS, or equivalent) preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum Experience: 4+ years experience in program management and delivery.
  • Extensive experience with progressively increasing responsibility in program management, clinical research administration, research operations, or healthcare management is strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting multi-disciplinary research programs, clinical networks, consortiums, or collaborative initiatives highly preferred.
  • Experience coordinating complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and institutions.
  • Experience in program budget tracking, reporting and risk management.
    Proven experience engaging with senior leaders to facilitate decision making.Experience providing guidance and mentorship within program management team.
    Some experience driving continuous program improvement projects.
  • Experience preparing executive-level reports, presentations, and strategic communications.

Compensation

In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $78,000 - $139,360 per year for the role of Program Manager- The Pediatric Translational Neuroscience Initiative (PTNI).
