About your role:
Pre Operative Nurse coordinates and delivers pre-operative care, ensuring patients are clinically prepared, informed and ready for surgery while supporting efficient theatre operations and a positive patient experience
Admitting patients on the day of their procedure.
Completing pre-operative assessments and health checks.
Confirming medical history, medications, allergies and fasting status.
Ensuring consent forms and documentation are complete.
Taking observations (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, etc.).
Preparing patients for surgery, including pre-operative medications and surgical site checks.
Providing information and reassurance to patients and families.
Liaising with surgeons, anaesthetists, theatre staff and ward nurses.
Coordinating patient flow to ensure theatre lists run efficiently.
About You:
Valid registration with AHPRA.
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
Previous Anaesthetic and/or Recovery experience.
Demonstrate a commitment to providing patient centered care.
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
Willingness to do call.
Sound knowledge of Department of Health Guidelines and Regulations, Workplace Health and Safety, Infection Control and their impact on the delivery of care.
