About Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN)

The Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN) creates solutions for some of society’s most serious problems in health, energy and the bioeconomy. Urgent solutions are needed for the way our global community generates and uses energy, engages with our environment, and deals with serious health issues. At the AIBN we're working on the answers.

Our 400-strong team works closely with industry to translate cutting-edge science into practical solutions to help shift global reliance on fossil fuels; create healthier communities; build stronger, more sustainable economies; and create a more sustainable footprint overall.

About Queensland Quantum Decarbonisation Alliance (QDA)

The QDA brings together twenty-seven partners across academia and industry to create a world-leading decarbonisation effort in Queensland powered by quantum technologies. Led by UQ, it has the partnerships needed for success, including Griffith University, CSIRO and a range of industry partners including Siemens, Aurizon, Queensland Energy, among others. A key partner in the alliance is PsiQuantum, a leading quantum computing company and their decarbonisation affiliate Qlimate. PsiQuantum is currently building a utility-scale quantum computer in Brisbane. The QDA aims to pioneer the use of quantum computers for high-value decarbonisation projects such as improved battery chemistries, the development of new catalysts for hydrogen, biofuel or ammonia production, materials for hydrogen or carbon storage, or process optimisation in carbon-intensive industry.
