Start your drafting career with Ledcor’s pipeline construction team. Working with experienced drafters, engineers, and coordinators, you will help turn survey and design information into accurate drawings, models, and construction plans. Develop practical skills in Civil 3D, corridor modelling, and earthwork quantities.

Previous pipeline experience is not required.

Along with your resume please include a brief summary of your CAD training or experience, including any Civil 3D, corridor modelling, or volumetrics exposure. Coursework and sample drawings you are permitted to share are welcome.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Work with engineers and coordinators to prepare accurate plans, profiles, cross-sections, grading drawings, and as-builts from design information and field markups, under technical supervision
• Import and organize survey points, linework, field markups, and reference files; help maintain accurate drawing and model information
• Assist with Civil 3D surfaces, alignments, profiles, and corridor models, developing your skills through progressively more complex assignments
• Assist with Civil 3D volumetrics: calculate and check cut and fill quantities, track changes, and prepare quantity reports under the guidance of experienced staff
• Check labels, dimensions, stationing, elevations, and drawing references; flag missing information or discrepancies for review
• Help export and check surfaces, alignments, drawings, and quantity data for project teams; maintain organized files, drawing registers, and revision records

Qualifications:

• Certificate or diploma in drafting, civil engineering technology, geomatics, or a related field, or equivalent training and practical experience. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
• Basic AutoCAD skills developed through education, work, or project experience, including layers, annotation, layouts, and plotting
• Ability to read technical drawings and understand basic dimensions, scales, elevations, and geometry
• Attention to detail, organized work habits, clear communication, and willingness to ask questions and apply feedback
• Interest in pipeline construction and a willingness to learn Civil 3D and corridor modelling. Previous pipeline experience is not required

Additional Assets:

• Exposure to Civil 3D corridor modelling for highways, roads, pipelines, or similar civil projects is preferred; coursework and practical experience are both welcome
• Familiarity with Trimble Business Center, Global Mapper, GIS, survey data, or earthwork quantity calculations
• Basic understanding of Civil 3D surface comparisons, volume calculations, quantity management, and data exports; Excel skills for organizing and checking information. These are assets, not requirements

Working Conditions:

• This position combines home-based and site-based work, with the arrangement determined by project requirements and individual preferences. Site location and rotation will depend on the project.
