Über diese People Ops Specialist Stelle bei DATAPAO
TL;DR
The role will be a great fit if:
- You have an eye for details, are at ease with administrative work, and like to think about and set up scalable processes.
- You can balance accuracy and compliance with a thoughtful employee experience.
- You like taking ownership of end-to-end processes, have a strong drive to automate workflows and systems, and understand how to leverage tools or existing employee data to support decision-making.
- Think ahead, spot risks early, and solve problems before they escalate.
- You are comfortable handling sensitive information and working independently.
- Want to grow while owning the operational core of People Ops for at least the next 18–24 months.
What will you do?
- Own our HRIS. Meaning that you will manage workflows, employee data, permissions, integrations, onboarding and offboarding flows, and overall data integrity. We currently use Personio, but going to move to Shapes by the time you join us.
- Manage people operations in Hungary, the UK, and Spain. Meaning that you'll own the employee life cycle from the time Recruitment hands over to you a new hire until the employee moves beyond DATAPAO. Among others, this means:
- In Hungary: collect new-hire information, create a new HRIS profile, manage employment contracts and amendments, coordinate onboarding and offboarding, co-own payroll, tax allowances, and social security requirements with Finance and our external payroll provider, and give support with employment-related documentation.
- In the UK: collect new-hire information, create a new HRIS profile, manage Right to Work checks, employment contracts and amendments, coordinate onboarding and offboarding, co-own payroll, tax allowances, and social security requirements with Finance and our external payroll provider, administer time-off, and give support with employment-related documentation.
- In Spain: coordinate EOR employment and act as the SPOC for our EOR provider (Deel) and local employees.
- Employee SPOC. Meaning that you are the first point of contact for questions about contracts, payroll, benefits, time-off policies, and other employment matters.
- Manage employee benefits. Manage our benefits, healthcare (e.g., Generali, AXA), and pension providers (e.g., Smart Pensions), across geographies.
- Automate people operations. Proactively identify bottlenecks, manual work, and opportunities to create more robust processes. Use automation, AI, integrations, and better workflows to improve accuracy, efficiency, and the employee experience.
- Legal and policies due diligence. Work with external counsel and internal stakeholders on employment-related legal matters, including due diligence when expanding into new jurisdictions, terminations, and MSAs. Keep our HR policies and employee handbook up to date and legally compliant.
- Employee equipment & access provisioning. Coordinate the ordering, allocation, tracking, and return of IT equipment. Grant and revoke employee access to tools such as Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, AWS, Azure, and 1Password during onboarding and offboarding. Over time, these tasks might move to an IT-dedicated person, but for now, they fall under this role.
- Contribute to broader People Team initiatives. Depending on your experience and interests, take part in HR analytics, automation, global payroll & benefits, or people development initiatives.
What does it take to fit the bill?
- Proven track record in People Operations, preferably across geographies and in a fast-growing tech company.
- Strong working knowledge of Hungarian labor law and employment specifics. Experience with UK employment and/or EOR arrangements across geographies is a big advantage.
- Hands-on experience with managing HRIS tools, including workflows, permissions, employee data, configuration, and integrations.
- Pragmatism and employee-experience-first mindset. You understand that a process can be compliant and efficient, and provide an enviable employee experience at the same time.
- Proactive, solution-driven approach. You show an unabated can-do attitude and are able to understand and factor the downstream consequences of your work and proposals in your decision-making process. You anticipate potential issues and involve the right people before the problem even emerges.
- Proven track record in handling confidential and sensitive information and matters with sound judgment and discretion.
- Exceptional attention to detail, a systematic approach to your work, and high autonomy are your second nature.
- You’re fluent and a versatile communicator in both English and Hungarian.
Bonus points - any of the following:
- Proven track record with automated and/or AI-enabled workflows.
- Experience with HR analytics and reporting, or with IT-related topics (e.g., equipment and access management).
- Contributed to or led people development or employee engagement projects.
Most importantly, this role should match the type of work you genuinely enjoy, and it should be, in some way or form, a stretch vs. your current role.
We pledge to give you plenty of opportunities to make a visible impact here beyond operations, but we can't reshape the role at its core, as this is our team's sole People Ops role.
So, if you get your drive from providing employees with an enviable experience through robust, efficient operations and are comfortable spending most of your time working with systems, documentation, employment processes, vendors, and legal or payroll workflows, then this is for you. If not, then it might not be your cup of tea.
What will the selection process look like?
- Screening interview (~45 minutes): A conversation with one of our recruiters about your experience, motivation, and expectations.
- Skills interview (~120 minutes): A practical discussion with our Head of People focused on critical skills for thriving in this role and on People Operations scenarios. This may include a short practical exercise or case discussion.
- Meet the team (~60 minutes): An informal but structured conversation with members of the People Team. We will discuss collaboration, ways of working, feedback, motivation, and what working together could look like.
We aim to keep the process focused, practical, and transparent.
