Über diese People Operations Coordinator Stelle bei Open Farm
About Us
At Open Farm we are transforming the way people feed their pets, with a focus on producing premium, healthy food and treats, all ethically sourced from farm-to-bowl. Headquartered in Toronto and with team members across the US, Open Farm is one of the fastest growing CPG companies in North America. We believe that the best foods are made with consciously sourced, top-quality ingredients from farmers and fisheries who believe in doing good for all animals and the environment.
The Opportunity
At Open Farm, we believe the way we work should be as thoughtful and purpose-driven as the food we make. As we continue our rapid growth and mission to Do Some Good® for animals and the planet, we're on the hunt for a People Operations Coordinator to grow with us. This is the person behind the scenes helping make Open Farm a place people want to work at- equal parts business smarts and genuine care for the humans doing the work. If you love the chaos of People Ops, thrive when you're juggling a dozen things at once, LOVE to learn, and rarely lose your cool, you might be exactly who we need.
What You’ll Actually Be Doing:
HR stuff:
- Helping run our wellness, benefits, performance, and recognition programs
- Supporting our RRSP and 401(k) administration
- Leading our Co-op/Summer Student recruitment (and managing the grant paperwork that comes with it)
- Coordinating interviews across departments - juggling calendars with hiring managers and panels
- Helping administer our health benefits
- Putting together reports and letters (headcount, employment confirmations, comp statements, travel letters - you name it)
- Owning our HRIS from top to bottom, making sure the data's clean and updated
People programs:
- Supporting the whole employee journey, onboarding through offboarding
- Supporting our employee survey program through CultureAmp
- Planning company events, like our monthly Town Halls
- Bringing fresh ideas to our programs and policies - we want you to make things better, not just keep them running
- Writing our People Ops newsletter and other employee comms
- Helping run Open Farm University
Office stuff:
- Keeping our office clean, safe, and welcoming for the team and visitors
- Managing our vendors (cleaning, maintenance, supplies - the whole list)
- Keeping supplies, snacks, and equipment stocked
- Setting new hires up for day one (desk, gear, access badge)
- Being the go-to person when something in the office needs fixing
- Helping keep us compliant on health and safety
What You Bring To The Table:
- A love of pets (this one's non-negotiable)
- Real empathy and strong people skills
- You're proactive - you don't wait to be told what to do
- You're comfortable when things are a little messy or unclear
- You take ownership and follow through
- You can juggle a lot of people and priorities without dropping the ball
- You know how to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- You pick up new systems and tools quickly (HRIS, CultureAmp, scheduling platforms, etc.)
- You've got an eye for detail, especially when it comes to data accuracy and compliance
- You're happy wearing a lot of hats and shifting gears throughout the day
- You care about company culture and the employee experience - not just the admin side of HR
- Bonus points if you've got experience with both Canadian and US HR practices, since our team spans both
What We Offer You
- An opportunity to grow, develop, and thrive within a mission-driven, dynamic, and fast-growing company alongside thoughtful and passionate individuals.
- Competitive compensation and a full suite of benefits, including a monthly pet feeding program for someone who loves to keep their pet well-fed year-round.
- Great office culture (with numerous adorable pets!) where your pet interrupting a video call or meeting is the norm.
- Comprehensive healthcare coverage and RRSP plans with company match.
- Discounted food, apparel, and insurance for your furry family members.
- PTO plus company-wide wellness and personal days to support your well-being.
- Volunteer days to give back to our community.
This role requires candidates to be available to work on-site a minimum of 4 days per week.
