Department Overview

With the mission of "preventing fraud and maximizing the efficiency of procurement activities and through suppliers and procurement management within all Rakuten Group Companies", we are working on establishing and improving a procurement governance framework and developing a supplier management scheme for the Rakuten Group.
We are strengthening procurement governance through establishment and implementation of procurement standard process. We deploy it to mainly domestic companies. It is able to work in fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Position Details

・Establishing and implementing policy and rule for Rakuten group’s procurement.
・Promoting optimize procurement organization structure.
・Establishing and improving the procurement operation monitoring process.
・Enlightening activities to comply with Subcontract Act etc.
・Creating and providing training materials, manual for procurement governance.

Work Environment

Procurement Governance Section consists of 10 members, including dual roles members (Collaborate with the Global Procurement Governance Section)

Mandatory Qualifications:

・Experience in procurement is not required. We welcome candidates who possess strong negotiation and coordination skills, along with a proactive mindset for process optimization (e.g., client-facing experience in sales, project management, or workflow improvement in administrative roles).
・You will serve as an "internal consultant" overseeing company-wide procurement governance, leading cross-functional process transformation initiatives.
・We are looking for individuals with strong logical thinking and the ability to facilitate smooth collaboration across the organization.

Desired Qualifications:

・Practical experience in the fields of procurement or compliance.
・Experience in improving business processes.
・Experience in establishing internal rules.
・Experience in implementing procurement systems.
・Experience leading projects spanning multiple departments.
・Practical experience in data processing and analysis using Excel.
・Experience in creating presentations using PowerPoint.
・Experience using tools such as AI, Confluence or SharePoint.
・Practical experience using procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Ariba, Coupa).
・Knowledge related to accounting operations.
