About the Role

At Langdock, legal is part of the product. Some of Europe's largest and most regulated companies use Langdock for work that involves their most sensitive documents and data. Before a single employee logs in, their legal, data protection and security teams need to be convinced. What we promise about data, models and control becomes real in our contracts, our DPA and the way we answer their questions.

This is where you come in. As Legal Counsel, you own your matters end to end: enterprise contracts, data protection, the regulation that applies to an AI company, compliance and employment law for a growing team. Often you will be the person who gets a deal signed.

In our day-to-day work, we want to show what AI can do for legal work and rethink how work itself gets done with it. We treat every business function as an applied AI discipline. You will design new AI powered workflows, experiment with internal automations, and continuously refine how legal operates using our state-of-the-art products.

What You Will Do

Work directly with customers. Negotiate customer agreements from first call to signature, including DPAs, security and AI terms, DORA addenda for financial services.

Solve open questions. Translate new regulations like the AI Act, DORA, NIS2, the Data Act and the sector rules our customers work under into concrete requirements for our product.

Build the future cloud. Shape the contracts behind our data center and new cloud services, from power and hardware to the terms our customers sign.

Keep the company running. Advise internally on employment law, do corporate housekeeping, own our data protection program, and support in keeping our ISO 27001 and SOC 2 compliance current.

Use Langdock constantly. Build and maintain the agents, playbooks and evals behind our self-serve legal tools. As one of Langdock's most demanding users, your feedback goes straight to Product.

Work with kind individuals. We are a small team of highly ambitious people with low egos. We want to have fun and enjoy working together.

You Might Be a Fit If…

• You are a qualified lawyer with at least two years of experience in-house at a technology company or advising one. You have negotiated SaaS agreements and DPAs with enterprise counterparties.

• You have built something – an agent, a workflow, a clause library, a script, a template system. You can tell us what changed because of it.

• You want to understand the technology behind the products you advise on, not just the contracts around them. You are technical enough to know how SaaS products are built: databases, APIs, integrations, basic architecture.

• You can write and reason clearly and can tell which risks should stop a deal or feature.

• You are fluent in German and English. German-law employment and contract work makes German necessary; the team and most customer documents are English.

• You are a kind person who cares about the people around you.

The Environment

We work from our office in Berlin, Greifswalder Strasse 212. Everyone works together in person because the hardest problems get solved faster at a whiteboard than in a Slack thread. Conversations happen faster, problems get solved quicker, and we actually know each other.

We offer lunch & dinner in the office. We run, go to the gym, and take care of ourselves. Health is not separate from work here, it is part of how we work well.

The vibe is calm but intense. No one is yelling or panicking. But everyone is working hard on things that matter.

Compensation

Salaries are transparent and tied to levels, not negotiation. All roles include equity.

We will figure out the right level together based on your experience and scope. Levels are about the work you own, not your title or years of experience. We narrow down the expected salary range early in the process.

We move fast. Most processes complete within two weeks. The process includes a case study based on the kind of questions we handle day to day. We care more about how deep you go and how quickly you get there than about which topics you have covered before.
