Title:

KBR is seeking a Supervisory Lead Systems Architect to drive the architectural strategy and technical execution of mission-critical aviation systems supporting NAVAIR’s Aviation Product Lifecycle Management (AvPLM) program. In this senior leadership role, you will supervise and guide multiple technical teams across organizations, ensuring system architecture aligns with government objectives and modern digital engineering practices. You will oversee the design, integration, and performance of PLM systems while mentoring engineering teams, enforcing technical rigor, and serving as a key liaison with stakeholders.

Roles & Responsibilities

• supervise, mentor, and guide a multi-disciplinary team of systems architects and engineers across government and contractor teams
• Serve as the technical authority for AvPLM architecture, overseeing end-to-end system design, integration, and interoperability.
• Lead the coordination of architecture development across multiple programs and teams, ensuring technical alignment and unified execution.
• Conduct and guide design reviews, data modeling, and system performance assessments to support digital thread enablement.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive architecture documentation, including interface control documents, system views, and compliance matrices.
• Provide expert oversight on PLM tool integration, system modernization efforts, and legacy transitions.
• Promote architectural best practices and enforce adherence to DoD technical standards and cybersecurity policies.
• Act as a senior advisor to internal leadership and external stakeholders, articulating complex technical concepts clearly and effectively.
• Lead workforce development efforts including mentoring, training, and technical performance evaluations.
• Support strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives across AvPLM technical domains.

Basic Qualifications:

• Citizenship & Clearance: U.S. citizenship required. DoD Secret Clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum of 10 years of experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3+ years in a supervisory or lead architect role overseeing cross-functional technical teams.
• Expertise in PLM tools such as Siemens Teamcenter (v12.x+), including BMIDE, Access Management, Dispatcher, and Active Workspace.
• Knowledge of DoD sustainment processes, digital thread initiatives, and PLM-to-ERP integrations.
• Experience with system-of-systems design, configuration management, and aviation sustainment architectures.
• Track record of delivering complex PDM/PLM solutions through full lifecycle implementation and modernization.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week.

Compensation: $132,000-$198,000. The salary range posted is based on the national average. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s location, knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
