Lead Structural Engineer – Energy

What you’ll do

As a Lead Structural Engineer in our Energy team based in Brisbane, you’ll contribute to projects and programs that make a real difference and be part of a team that embraces challenges, welcomes diverse ideas, and engineer solutions with people and outcomes in mind.  You will:

• Oversee structural design delivery across substations, transmission, BESS, solar, wind and power plant projects.

• Partner with clients to solve complex technical challenges and deliver practical engineering solutions.

• Guide and support a collaborative team, sharing knowledge and developing technical capability.

• Drive high-quality structural designs using industry-leading tools, methodologies and best practices.

• Collaborate with teams across engineering, advisory, digital and environmental disciplines.

• Apply advanced engineering analysis to optimise performance, efficiency and constructability.

• Champion technical excellence, innovation and continuous improvement across projects and teams.

• Build trusted client relationships and support the growth of Aurecon's Energy business.

• Foster an inclusive, supportive team environment where people can learn, grow and thrive.

What you’ll bring

• Relevant engineering qualifications plus significant experience delivering structural designs for energy infrastructure projects, with CPEng and RPEQ registration.

• Proven experience designing steel and reinforced concrete structures, with expertise in structural analysis, modelling and foundation design.

• Supportive approach to mentoring teams, sharing knowledge and helping others grow while guiding complex technical decisions.

• Ability to build trusted relationships and work effectively with clients, colleagues and multidisciplinary teams.

• Experience leading projects and balancing technical excellence with programme, budget and delivery outcomes.

• A passion for innovation, continuous improvement and supporting the energy transition.
