About this role 

The role is part of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Tower covers a set of planning, forecasting & analytical activities that support business decisions and help understanding of overall financial health by combining financial, operational and external data in one place. It involves supporting long-term planning, leading Annual Operating Planning (AOP), supporting landing, leading performance analysis, and generating insights on strategic market and regional level.

Tower responsibilities also include ensuring timely, accurate, standardized reporting combined with beneficial analysis. Fast and sharp insights to understand what factors drive business performance with the aim to devise early warning signals to better anticipate risks and help identify growth opportunities, support quick & accurate decision making and act as excellent business partners to achieve financial goals of the Africa Business on Overheads area.

About the role

As an Overhead Analyst, you will support the management of Overheads by providing accurate financial analysis, reporting and insights to help stakeholders make informed business decisions.

You will be responsible for:

• Supporting the annual planning, monthly reporting, forecasting and O&R processes for Overheads.
• Preparing variance analysis and insightful commentary, identifying key drivers, trends, risks and opportunities.
• Partnering with budget holders and business functions such as HR and Legal to understand Overhead movements and provide relevant financial insights.
• Ensuring accurate and timely reporting, including month-end close activities, while following internal controls, policies and procedures.
• Identifying potential gaps, risks and opportunities and supporting stakeholders in understanding their financial impact.
• Responding to collaborator queries in a timely and collaborative manner, providing clear and meaningful financial information.
• Working with other markets, regional and global teams and the Overhead GPO to support consistent and efficient ways of working.
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, finding opportunities to simplify and improve processes and reporting.
• Supporting internal and external audits and ensuring compliance with relevant financial policies and procedures.
• Developing a strong understanding of the business and using financial data to generate insights and support better decision-making.

About You

We are looking for someone who combines strong financial knowledge with analytical thinking and a collaborative approach to managing collaborators.

You will ideally bring:

• A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field.
• 4–6 years of proven experience in controlling, FP&A or financial analysis.
• Solid knowledge of financial planning, reporting, forecasting and cost controlling.
• Experience working in an international and multicultural environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify key drivers, connect the dots and turn data into clear insights.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
• A proactive and collaborative approach, taking ownership of your area and following through on commitments.
• A customer-focused approach, with the ability to prioritize effectively and provide practical, value-adding support to stakeholders.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems and data tools; experience with SAP and/or Power BI is an advantage.
• A curious attitude and genuine interest in understanding the business and continuously improving processes and ways of working.
