Job Description Summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer with at least three years of experience to join our Blade Components team and serve as a technical anchor for our next generation of wind turbine technology. In this role, you will take full ownership of the design, analysis, and evaluation of critical blade components, ensuring that every project adheres to our strict prioritization of safety, quality, delivery, and cost. You will act as a primary technical authority, bridging the gap between theoretical design and factory reality by developing concepts that are not only structurally robust but also inherently manufacturable. Your daily impact will span the entire product lifecycle, from resolving complex field quality issues and providing repair solutions to spearheading New Technology Introduction (NTI) initiatives.

Beyond your technical contributions, you will play a pivotal role in our cross-functional strategy, acting as a liaison between Design, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to build consensus on technical approaches. As a subject matter expert, you will define design rules and specifications, perform proactive risk assessments, and use data-driven insights to shape our long-term technology roadmap. We are looking for an individual who is as passionate about people as they are about engineering; you will foster a culture of psychological safety by mentoring junior engineers, sharing best practices, and facilitating professional growth across the discipline. If you are a decisive problem-solver who thrives on taking a fresh perspective on existing solutions and wants to influence the future of wind energy, we invite you to help us drive the next phase of our manufacturing transformation.
