Über diese Lead Engineer - Configuration Management Stelle bei GE Vernova
Job Description Summary
Configuration Management is a cross-functional business discipline responsible for establishing, maintaining, and controlling the approved product definition throughout the lifecycle. It ensures that parts, product structures, technical documentation, and the physical product remain aligned, traceable, and controlled. The goal is to ensure that released product information is accurate, consistent, and complete, and that the delivered product matches what was designed, manufactured, built, operated and maintained.
The discipline includes Parts Management, Products Management, Enterprise Change Management, Unit BOM creation and release, and WT technical documentation provided to customers.
Change Management is a critical part of Configuration Management, ensuring that changes are properly identified, approved, released, and implemented so that configuration information remains accurate and synchronized across all affected functions and lifecycle stages.
The Lead Engineer Change Coordinator serves as the primary focal point for the Enterprise Change Request (ECR) and Enterprise Change Order (ECO) lifecycle. This requires proactive ownership, cross-functional alignment, and the ability to drive solutions across organizational boundaries while maintaining strict adherence to Form, Fit, Function, and Interchangeability (FFFI) principles to preserve product integrity and compatibility.

- Own the ECR/ECO lifecycle end-to-end, from change initiation through implementation, ensuring all governance gates (ECA, CRB, CCB) are executed with rigor and on schedule
- Drive Enterprise Change Assessments (ECA) by coordinating cross-functional teams (Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Projects) to assess impact, cost, schedule, and risk; synthesize findings into clear business recommendations
- Ensure FFFI (Form, Fit, Function, and Interchangeability) compliance in all change decisions; validate that proposed changes do not violate interchangeability requirements, compromise product interfaces, or create unintended downstream impacts on subsystems, manufacturing, or field operations

- Maintain data integrity and quality across all ECR/ECO records in PLM, ensuring traceability, completeness, and compliance with configuration management standards
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Alignment:
- Work closely with Product Line, Program Management, Engineering, and Global Supply Chain to identify product and project requirements that are clear, concise, and valid
- Engage with manufacturing and logistics to ensure changes are feasible, cost-effective, and implementable within production constraints
- Support the cut-in of new product offerings (new features and/or new products) by coordinating technical, supply chain, and manufacturing readiness
- Collaborate with Configuration Product Owners (CPOs) to maintain and evolve the product portfolio; provide regular updates on current configurations and planned changes
