To strengthen our Experimental Biomechanics team in Zurich, we are looking for a motivated and hands-on Lab Technician Biomechanics who is passionate about laboratory testing, technology, and continuous improvement.

As Lab Technician Biomechanics, you will provide technical expertise and laboratory support for the verification and characterization of new products. Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing, conducting, and documenting mechanical tests according to internal procedures, SOPs, and international standards.
• Analyzing test results and performing basic statistical evaluations.
• Preparing clear and accurate technical reports.
• Supporting product verification and characterization activities within R&D projects.
• Coordinating maintenance, calibration, and qualification of laboratory equipment.
• Ensuring laboratory infrastructure remains operational, reliable, and compliant.
• Reviewing, maintaining, and improving laboratory procedures and SOPs.
• Supporting failure investigations using optical microscopy and, ideally, scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
• Collaborating closely with engineers, scientists, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Maintaining compliance with quality and regulatory requirements in a regulated laboratory environment.

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications

• Degree as Dipl. Techniker/in HF/TS or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Medical Technology, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
• Hands-on experience in mechanical testing.
• Experience working within interdisciplinary project teams.
• Familiarity with ISO standards and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
• Fluent German and good English communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the medical device industry, materials science, or a related regulated environment.
• Experience with workshop machinery such as milling, drilling, and turning equipment.
• Experience in optical failure analysis and material characterization.
• Knowledge of Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM).
