The Role and Impact

 

As Lab Engineering Power Technician, you will play a pivotal role in conducting engineering tests and experimental validations to support power solutions and Voltage Regulator (VR) testing within Intel's lab environment.

You will engage in hands-on activities like fault isolation, system testing, and platform rework while ensuring detailed data collection and reporting. Your work will be instrumental in advancing Intel's power solutions engineering and driving innovation in the data center space.

This position is part of Intel's Data Center Group (DCG), which focuses on delivering innovative solutions that power the world's data centers, enabling the next generation of cloud computing and connected technologies.

As a key contributor within this team, you will support Intel's mission of enabling global progress and helping customers achieve their technological goals in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment.

 

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:  

 

• Perform technical validation and testing of Voltage Regulators (VRs) and other power solutions.
• Conduct operational tests and fault isolation on systems and equipment to identify nonstandard issues.
• Execute platform rework, including soldering, replacing components, and package rework.
• Utilize lab tools such as oscilloscopes, probes, multimeters, and function generators for advanced testing.
• Read, interpret, and work with schematics and board layout databases.
• Manage routine lab maintenance, including equipment calibration and tracking parts and platforms.
• Prepare detailed engineering reports and communicate findings effectively to engineers and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications, you must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position.

 

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, or a similar technical discipline.

• At least 1 year of experience in:
  • Platform rework, including soldering and component replacement.
  • Using advanced functions of oscilloscopes, probes, DMMs, and function generators.
  • Reading and understanding schematics and board layout databases.
  • Routine lab maintenance, equipment calibration, and parts/platform tracking.
  • Intermediate English proficiency (reading and writing technical instructions).

 

 

Must have unrestricted, permanent right to work in Mexico (this role is not eligible for visa or immigration sponsorship).

 

 

Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a

plus factor in identifying top candidates.

 

 

• Hands-on experience with Voltage Regulator testing.
• Familiarity with logic analyzers and spectrum analyzers.
• Proficiency in Excel for data tracking and analysis.
• Knowledge of electronic design (analog and digital).
• Programming skills in Python or C++ for automation and data analysis.
