Job Description: About the Role and Team The Intel DCG AISOC organization is developing high-performance accelerated AI platforms. Real-world inference performance, latency SLOs, and TCO are governed by full-system interplay: dynamic batching, distributed KV cache movement, scale-up fabrics, and heterogeneous host-accelerator memory hierarchies. We are seeking a highly motivated, versatile College Graduate who is a proactive self-starter, hands-on problem solver, and enthusiastic team player. In this role, you will work alongside senior architects to develop, calibrate, and execute simulations modeling next-generation AI hardware and software architectures. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities: 1. Simulation Platform and Frontend Development • Hands-on Feature Implementation: Write clean, modular, and performance-oriented Python or C++ code to implement core simulator features and hardware behavioral models. • Web Frontend and Visualization: Develop lightweight Web Frontends and interactive dashboards to help users configure simulations and visualize complex performance metrics. • Model Calibration: Benchmark and profile baseline AI hardware and serving engines (e.g., vLLM) to extract empirical performance data and calibrate simulator parameters. 2. Simulation Execution and Bottleneck Triage • Trace Replay and Analysis: Run simulation sweeps to replay dynamic production traces (Agentic, multi-turn workloads) and proactively analyze logs to identify system bottlenecks. • Documentation: Document simulation workflows, setup guides, and tool usage instructions clearly to empower stakeholders. 3. Collaboration and Communication • Proactive Engagement: Reach out to senior architects and software teams to understand their requirements and translate feedback into simulator improvements. • Global Synergy: Present findings and tool demos clearly in English, collaborating effectively as a supportive team player in a global engineering environment.

Qualifications:

Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: • Education: Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related quantitative field (Graduating in 2026/2027). • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Python or C++, with basic web development skills. • Systems Foundation: Solid academic understanding of computer architecture (memory hierarchies, caching, pipelining) and operating systems. Soft Skills and Professional Attributes (Critical): • Proactive and Self-Driven: Takes initiative to solve problems and explore unfamiliar domains without waiting for step-by-step instructions. • Hands-on Mindset: Strong track record of learning by doing through personal coding projects, GitHub repositories, or academic labs. • Communication and English: Excellent verbal and written English skills to document work and confidently collaborate with global teams daily. • Team Player: Highly collaborative, receptive to feedback, and committed to sharing knowledge. ________________________________________ Preferred Qualifications: • Simulation Experience: Academic projects or internships involving discrete-event simulators or performance modeling. • Frontend and Visualization: Experience with web and plotting libraries. • AI/LLM Basics: Familiarity with Transformer architectures or inference mechanics (batching, KV cache).
