DETAILS MATTER. PEOPLE MATTER. START YOUR PAYROLL CAREER WITH BOTH.

The Opportunity

Are you eager to build a career in payroll and HR systems while learning from an experienced team? AMA is looking for a Junior Payroll/HRIS Coordinator to join our Human Resources team in a hybrid role where you'll gain hands-on experience supporting payroll processes, maintaining employee data, and helping ensure payroll is completed accurately and on schedule. We're looking for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and excited to learn, whether you're a recent graduate or early in your payroll career. If you enjoy working with systems, solving problems, supporting employees, and building a strong foundation in payroll and HRIS, we'd love to hear from you.

Whether you're a recent graduate, working toward your PCP designation, or looking to take your first step into payroll, we'll provide the training, support, and exposure needed to help you build a successful payroll career.

 ** This is a 12-month fixed-term position **

A Place to Belong
AMA is more than a workplace; it’s a family. Together, we help protect the things that matter most to our more than one-million members—everything from roadside safety to retail savings, food security to childhood well-being. • Ongoing professional development.
  • Vacation earnings paid out with each pay period.

For us, curiosity fuels innovation. We value people who are eager to explore new ideas and who are comfortable putting emerging technologies into practice. We see experience with AI‑powered tools like ChatGPT, Copilot, and similar platforms as a real plus - especially when it’s used to work smarter, increase efficiency, and find better ways to get things done.

Who You Are

  • You handle confidential employee and payroll information with professionalism, discretion, and care.
  • You have a strong eye for detail and take pride in producing accurate work while learning payroll processes and procedures.

  • You enjoy problem-solving and are committed to finding accurate solutions while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
  • You are adaptable and open to learning new processes, tools, and ways of working in a supportive team environment.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Support day-to-day payroll administration duties, including processing biweekly payroll in a timely and accurate manner using Workday Payroll.
  • Receive hands-on training and mentorship from an experienced payroll team, including exposure to:

    • Records of Employment (ROEs) and employee payroll documentation
    • Payroll adjustments, absence corrections, and data validation
