The work:
Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts under the guidance of more experienced engineers. • Collaborate with developers, analysts, and product teams to gather test requirements and understand expected system behavior. • Help create test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on business and technical specifications. • Execute manual and automated test cycles to validate functionality and ensure adequate test coverage. • Identify and document defects, support root cause discussions, and help drive resolution activities. • Assist in maintaining and updating automated regression suites as application features evolve. • Support integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring stable execution across environments. • Participate in continuous improvement discussions to enhance testing processes, tools, and automation frameworks. • Support validation activities during deployments, including smoke testing and release checks. • Help analyze test results and provide clear, concise feedback to QA and engineering teams.
Here's what you need:
- At least 1+ year of professional experience.
- Foundational exposure to automated testing, through internships, coursework, projects, or early professional experience.
- Ability to execute and assist in designing basic automated test cases using frameworks such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or Cucumber.
- Understanding QA methodologies, testing processes, and software quality best practices.
- Familiarity with defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps) and version control systems such as Git.
- General understanding of test framework structure, reusable test components, and basic scripting.
- Exposure to Agile or iterative development environments.
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to obtain secret clearance.
Bonus points if you have:
- Exposure to Pega testing or Pega specific automation tools (e.g., PegaUnit).
- Familiarity with test management platforms and CI tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
- Experience assisting with test automation in deployment pipelines.
- Experience supporting testing for enterprise or complex applications through academic or internship work.
- Interest in building automation skills and improving test coverage or efficiency.
