The opportunity

Every Steer customer relationship starts with an implementation, and the quality of that experience shapes everything that follows: adoption, time to value, satisfaction, and renewal. As Implementation Manager, you will act as the owner of each client implementation, responsible for a smooth delivery and a client who is confident from day one.

You will run projects that combine workflow design, EHR integration, AI configuration, and change management, working with hospital and practice leaders on one side and Steer Product and Engineering on the other. Our platform integrates with Epic, Oracle Health, MEDITECH, athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, and dozens more, so you will see a wide range of environments and learn quickly.

What you will do

Deliver implementations end to end

• Own the implementation plan including scope, timeline, milestones, resources, risks, and go-live readiness for each client.
• Lead kickoff and discovery to capture the client's workflows, systems, goals, and success criteria.
• Coordinate the technical work with Engineering and client IT, including EHR connectivity, data flows, and system configuration.
• Drive go-live through testing, training, cutover, and hypercare, and keep every stakeholder informed along the way.

Manage the client relationship

• Be the day-to-day lead for clinical, operational, executive, and IT stakeholders during implementation.
• Set expectations clearly and raise risks and blockers early, with a proposed path forward.
• Hand off cleanly to Client Success and Support so that value realization continues after go-live.

Make delivery faster and more repeatable

• Track time to value and client satisfaction on every implementation, and report on what you learn.
• Improve templates, checklists, and playbooks so each implementation is faster and more predictable than the last.
• Bring field feedback to Product and Engineering and help shape how new capabilities are rolled out.

Work as one team

• Partner with Sales on scoping and handoff so commitments are realistic and clear.
• Partner with Training and Customer Success to prepare users and drive adoption.

Requirements

What you bring

• 5+ years managing software implementations or projects in healthcare technology, health IT, or enterprise SaaS.
• Hands-on experience with EHR environments and an understanding of how clinical and front-office workflows run in hospitals or physician groups.
• Working knowledge of integrations, including HL7, FHIR, APIs, or SFTP, and comfort working alongside engineers and client IT teams.
• A track record of delivering on time in complex, multi-stakeholder projects, with strong planning and risk management skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the presence to lead conversations with clinical and executive leaders.
• Comfort in a fast-moving startup where processes are still being built.

Strongly preferred

• Direct experience with Epic, Oracle Health (Cerner), MEDITECH, or athenahealth.
• PMP or similar project management certification.
• Experience with AI, patient access, call center, or scheduling and referral workflows.

What success looks like

• First 90 days: You are fluent in the Steer platform and implementation process, and you are leading your first go-live with support.
• First 6 months: You own a portfolio of implementations, and your clients go live on schedule with strong satisfaction scores.
• First 12 months: Your time to value is measurably faster, and the templates and playbooks you built are standard practice for the team.
