HPE Factory Build Process -DevID Software Engineer: Quality Analysis

Job Description

The position is with the Product Security Office Team located within the Cybersecurity and Digital Risk Management organization. The position is responsible for providing test validation of coding and user support for the DevID service; a key component of HPE Factory Build process, that provides the PKI Certificate.

Candidate must be a US Citizen or currently have a Green Card.

This role will work with Teams across the United States and the world including Taiwan.

From a user support perspective, the candidate will need to work during USA hours since they will be the share responsibility with another USA-based team member to serve as  the primary contact for assistance for HPE Factory Build process issues related to the DevID service. It will include late evenings, and weekends as needed.

From a code validation perspective, the candidate will need to effectively work with the DeviD Development team members on the development and maintenance of the test validation test cases in relation to new functionality, existing code revision and 'bug fixes' as needed. This work includes focus on use of test automation.

 In terms of a typical day, the candidate will

·         Actively participate in DevID related meetings and calls during the USA hours

·         Respond to emails from internal and external team members as needed

·         If user support arises, assist Development team members as needed until resolution and/or workaround is provided

·         Work with DevID development team members on creation/maintenance of automated test scripts for the DevID service. 

·         Assist the aaS Infrastructure team; as needed, for the FtC based PSO infrastructure.

Job Responsibilities

·         Able to follow HPE processes for defect life cycle and build/release requirements with minimum guidance

·         Able to follow current team process standards; document, communicate, and implement in a timely fashion any required test case addition/revision to validate enhancements that are discovered during development, test, and integration – these changes are to be applied while enabling common source sharing 

·         Able to participate in definition and finalization of Product Strategy and SPEC requirements for new DevID product functional needs  

·         Able to provide POC and Demonstrations for test cases; as needed; to help validate requirements with usage of HPE agreed upon tools

·         Provide weekly status report on time; including progress against agreed to schedule tasks

·         Maintain a quality focused with constant attention to detail. Not afraid to ask questions and/or provide feedback on strategy and/or issue resolution

·         Must be assertive and self-driven that ensures timely and successful completion of all assigned tasks with minimal guidance

·         Provide excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts at all levels of HPE management

Job Requirements:

·         Candidate must be a US Citizen or currently have a Green Card due to the requirements of the role.

·         Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent work experience

·         Minimum of 1 year of applicable and documented technical experience in following areas:

-          Experience or understanding of software quality assurance tools and processes. Understanding of basic testing, coding, and debugging procedures

-          Experience with application/service/tool setup, configuration and practices

-          Experience with HPE hardware setup/configuration (server, storage and switch)

-          Good analytical and problem-solving skills

-          Basic understanding of design for software and firmware running on multiple platform types (Linux and Windows)

-          Good written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English

Preferred Technical Qualifications

While not required for consideration, it would be beneficial if the candidate had applicable and documented technical experience in any of the following areas:

·         Familiarity with HPE hardware (server, storage and switch)

·         Familiarity with application observability setup and practices

·         Familiarity with AI in generation of product code validation test

·         Familiarity with GitHub Repositories in relation to supporting a multi-environment deployment model

·         Familiarity with DevID standards (IEEE 802.1AR)

·         Familiarity of applied cryptography experience especially with X.509 certificate chains, RSA and/or ECC
