Chevron Australia Downstream also owns and operates three product import terminals. We deliver products and services to a range of industries including mining, resources, agriculture, transport, marine and aviation. We offer services such as bulk fuel supply, oils and lubricants, fuel equipment solutions, customised fleet fuel card solutions and expert advice on fuel management and health and safety.

About the Role

This role will report into the Global Fuels vertical, working closely with the International Fuels BPF Manager to support the GM of Interational Fuels, as Australia is a signficant part of the Asia Pacific portfolio.

This role will be based in Brisbane.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Business Partnership and Finance Leadership

• Drive peer-leading performance outcomes by being a key and integral part of the business leadership team, providing guidance and insights from the finance and perspective on strategic and other initiatives
• Key finance advisor to business leaders to drive future performance and strategic actions and initiatives, and incorporate enterprise-level thinking where it makes sense
• Use We Lead behaviors to effectively communicate, align, and influence teams on shared goals and outcomes
• Manages financial performance reporting, forecasting, and business planning, integrating the three lenses of performance (absolute performance, actuals vs. plan, and performance against our peers)
• Ensures integration of reliable financial and operational data to generate insights and enable high-quality decision-making, in addition to identify opportunities for improvement
• Directs Finance and Accounting function to support Australia’s Fuels & Lubricants’ business activities, including financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, decision support, internal control, compliance, accounting policy, etc. 
• Manages production of accurate and timely financial information for management reporting purposes (local statutory and US consolidated reporting)
• Leads a team of finance analysts, in addition to partnering with GBS (shared services) for services provided
• Ensure effective coordination, communication, and delivery of financial services to the business to address financial concerns and to improve cost efficiencies

Fiduciary Duties

• Responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting and the implementation of strong financial controls
• Ensures appropriate systems and procedures are in place and operating satisfactorily to comply with statutory, regulatory and US reporting requirements for all Chevron companies
• Performs fiduciary duties according to schedule of review and regulatory requirements
• Drives / promotes stronger control and compliance environment.  Develop internal controls and policies to safeguard assets, protect legal entities from financial exposures and promote the overall financial success of the entities.
• Lead or support incident investigations and disciplinary proceedings, as required
• Coordinates with internal and external auditors to identify risks to the effectiveness of the company’s internal controls and compliance with regulations and policies.  Support prescribed audit programs.
• Responsible for statutory tax compliance and planning, in coordination with Corporation Tax
• Ensures potential financial impacts are timely communicated to leaders and seeks guidance from the relevant regional teams 
• Builds and maintains effective relationships with relevant government and tax agencies, as needed

Regional Leadership and Collaboration

• Partner effectively with the International Fuels BPF Manager and other Regional Fuels and Lubricants leaders to influence decisions and priorities across the Asia Pacific region
• Share best practices among peers to promote standardization across the region
• Works closely with Corporation Treasury Regional Cash Management for banking operations and cash management
• Applies knowledge of local business activities and regulatory changes to proactively engage Corporation Treasury on emerging funding issues

About You

Knowledge, skills and experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Professional accounting qualification such as CA or CPA required; MBA or other advanced business qualification preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive finance experience, including significant experience in senior finance leadership roles.
• Demonstrated experience within the energy industry or a comparable complex, capital-intensive industry.
• Proven ability to provide strategic financial leadership and business partnership across geographically dispersed operations.
• Strong understanding of financial planning, performance management, governance, risk management, and commercial decision support.
• Experience supporting businesses with operations across Australia and engaging with senior stakeholders in a complex organizational environment.
