Working Hours: 37 hours (full time)
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £28,690.00 - £37,126.37

Make a real difference in your community
Are you passionate about supporting children, young people and families to thrive? Join our team at Waythrough as a Family Inclusion Worker and help families affected by drug and alcohol use to build stronger relationships, improve their wellbeing and create positive, lasting change.

This is more than just a job – it’s an opportunity to build trusted relationships, provide meaningful support and make a real difference to the lives of children, young people, parents and carers. Working across our adult and young people’s services, you’ll play a vital role in bringing a whole-family approach to recovery and helping families move towards healthier, more positive futures.

About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate, motivated and experienced Family Inclusion Worker to join our team and make a real difference to children, young people and families affected by drug and alcohol use.

This is an outreach-based role. You will be based at our service on Bromley Road, but will work across services throughout the local area. The role sits across both young people’s and adult services, supporting a whole-family approach and ensuring that the needs of children, young people, parents, carers and families are identified and addressed.

You will provide targeted and specialist interventions to families affected by complex substance use and recovery. Working collaboratively with colleagues across the Haringey treatment system, you will help families access the right support at the right time.

What You’ll Do:
As a Family Inclusion Worker, you will:

  • Provide high-quality, targeted and specialist interventions using a whole-family approach.
  • Support children, young people, parents, carers and families affected by drug and alcohol use.
  • Carry out assessments and develop appropriate recovery and support plans.
  • Provide one-to-one interventions, case management and ongoing support.
  • Facilitate groups and contribute to a range of direct and indirect interventions.
  • Work across both adult and young people’s services to ensure the needs of the whole family are considered.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the Haringey Treatment System to identify families who may benefit from Family Inclusion support.
  • Promote and publicise the Family Inclusion service to colleagues and partner services.
  • Attend team meetings and contribute to multi-agency discussions.
  • Undertake joint assessments and joint support work where appropriate.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safeguarding, ensuring the welfare and safety of children, young people and vulnerable adults is prioritised.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with families and work collaboratively to support positive and sustainable change.

About You:

We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting families and understands the impact that substance use can have on children, young people and family relationships.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Experience of working with children, young people, parents, carers and/or families.
  • Experience of using a whole-family approach.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and experience of identifying and responding to safeguarding concerns.
  • Knowledge and understanding of drug and alcohol use, substance misuse and recovery.
  • Experience of delivering one-to-one interventions and/or group work.
  • Experience of assessment, support planning and case management.
  • The ability to build effective relationships with families who may have complex and challenging needs.
  • Excellent communication and partnership-working skills.
  • The ability to work confidently across different services and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • A compassionate, non-judgemental and strengths-based approach.

Please note: The salary listed reflects the full earning potential for this role. Starting salaries depend on experience and progression within the band.
