• Exciting opportunity to be an Education Support Officer within the Faculty of Medicine and Health  

• Base Salary starting at $107,312 (pro rata) + 17% superannuation 

About the opportunity

The Faculty of Medicine and Health is seeking an Education Support Officer to provide education administrative and operational support to academic and teaching staff across the Faculty. The role supports the delivery of high-quality teaching and curriculum activities by coordinating education resources, supporting academic processes and ensuring effective administration of learning and teaching activities.

Working collaboratively with academic staff, teaching teams and professional colleagues, the Education Support Officer will contribute to the coordination of education activities, including the preparation of academic content, support for Canvas and online learning systems, curriculum documentation, reporting requirements and continuous improvement initiatives. The role also contributes to maintaining compliance with Faculty requirements and supporting a positive student and staff experience.

This position may be required to work one day per week at the Westmead Precinct.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• provide operational and education administrative support to academic and teaching staff, including assistance with policy interpretation, procedures and education support services

• coordinate and maintain education resources, databases and contact lists to support learning and teaching activities

• support academic and teaching staff with the preparation, compilation and publication of curriculum materials for printed and online platforms including Canvas

• assist with the development and maintenance of course and subject documentation while ensuring copyright compliance

• coordinate education processes including assessments, examinations, special consideration, prizes, scholarships, results processing and student evaluations

• gather and analyse routine data to support reporting, operational planning and continuous improvement activities

• ensure accuracy of information across University and Faculty systems supporting curriculum management and teaching activities

• contribute to the implementation of Faculty and University education projects and initiatives

• collaborate with education support colleagues through communities of practice and contribute to service improvements

• provide support and training to Academic and Sessional Teaching staff on University systems and relevant learning and teaching processes

• undertake other duties and contribute to projects appropriate within the classification level as required.

About you

• tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of training and experience

• administrative experience within a tertiary organisation, with knowledge of academic institutions, structures and the higher education sector

• experience supporting the delivery of education programs, preferably within a tertiary education environment

• ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and complex environment while maintaining a strong customer service focus

• effective verbal and written communication skills with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise initiative and judgement

• excellent time and workload management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

• highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders including staff, students and external partners

• strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Canvas and database maintenance

• understanding of relevant Work Health and Safety policies and legislation applicable to the workplace.
