This role is an Onsite Role: This role requires full-time presence at our North Carolina office.

Revlon is seeking a Director, Quality Control to lead Quality Control laboratory operations at the Oxford, NC manufacturing site. This role is responsible for ensuring timely, accurate, compliant testing and release of raw materials, bulk product, packaging materials, labels, and finished goods in support of FDA-regulated cosmetics and OTC manufacturing.


The Director will provide hands-on technical and people leadership for QC laboratory operations, analytical testing, microbiology, stability, method validation, laboratory investigations, data integrity, and continuous improvement. The role will strengthen lab performance, build capability, improve right-first-time execution, and ensure the QC organization operates in a perpetual state of inspection readiness.
This leader will partner closely with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, R&D, Regulatory, Engineering, Supply Chain, and site leadership to support compliant production, timely product release, and sustained quality performance.


Key Responsibilities

Quality Control Laboratory Leadership

  • Lead day-to-day QC laboratory operations, including chemical, physical, analytical, microbiological, raw material, bulk, packaging, stability, and finished goods testing.
  • Ensure testing, documentation, review, and release activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable FDA, cGMP, internal, and customer requirements.
  • Establish priorities, staffing plans, workflows, and laboratory schedules to support manufacturing operations and business needs.
  • Maintain inspection-ready laboratory practices, equipment, documentation, and records.
  • Manage the budget and capex for QC department.

Analytical Methods, Validation, and Technical Excellence

  • Oversee analytical method qualification, validation, verification, transfer, and lifecycle management
  • Ensure laboratory methods are scientifically sound, fit for purpose, and consistently executed.
  • Provide technical direction for OOS, OOT, atypical result, deviation, and laboratory investigations.
  • Partner with R&D, QA, Regulatory, and Manufacturing on new product launches, reformulations, technology transfers, and troubleshooting.

Compliance, Data Integrity, and Laboratory Systems
•    Ensure QC operations comply with applicable FDA, cGMP, cGLP, data integrity, ISO 22716, internal quality, and site procedures.
•    Maintain robust laboratory documentation, sample management, specifications, testing records, equipment logs, and controlled procedures.
•    Oversee laboratory equipment qualification, calibration, maintenance, and readiness.
•    Support regulatory inspections, customer audits, internal audits, and inspection response activities related to QC operations.


Operational Performance and Continuous Improvement
•    Establish and monitor QC performance metrics, including testing cycle time, release performance, right-first-time, invalid assay rate, OOS/OOT trends, backlog, and investigation aging.
•    Identify and implement process improvements to increase laboratory efficiency, reduce rework, improve throughput, and strengthen compliance.
•    Drive standardization, simplification, digital enablement, and improved use of laboratory systems and data.
•    Partner with site leadership to resolve quality, manufacturing, material, and supply constraints affecting product release.


People Leadership and Culture
•    Lead, coach, and develop QC managers, supervisors, analysts, microbiologists, technicians, and laboratory support personnel.
•    Build a culture of scientific rigor, accountability, collaboration, urgency, and continuous learning.
•    Assess team capability, create development plans, strengthen succession, and ensure appropriate training and qualification.
•    Serve as a visible, engaged leader who connects laboratory priorities to Oxford’s broader operational and quality transformation.


Qualifications
•    Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Engineering, or related scientific field; advanced degree preferred.
•    15+ years of progressive Quality Control, laboratory, analytical, or manufacturing quality experience in FDA-regulated manufacturing, preferably OTC, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, personal care, or consumer health.
•    Significant leadership experience in QC laboratory operations, including analytical chemistry and/or microbiology.
•    Strong knowledge of cGMP, FDA expectations, laboratory investigations, data integrity, analytical method validation, stability, and laboratory equipment systems.
•    Experience supporting regulatory inspections, customer audits, and internal audits.
•    Demonstrated ability to lead teams through change, improve performance, and build technical capability.


Success Profile
•    QC testing and release performance improves with stronger cycle time, accuracy, and right-first-time execution.
•    Laboratory investigations are timely, scientifically sound, and effectively prevent recurrence.
•    The QC organization is inspection-ready, well-trained, technically capable, and aligned with site priorities.
•    Laboratory systems, documentation, equipment, and data integrity practices are strengthened.
•    QC is viewed as a proactive, collaborative partner to Manufacturing, QA, R&D, Regulatory, and Supply Chain.

Revlon is unable to sponsor or transfer employment visas for this role; candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa support.

The base pay range for this position is $136,000.00 - $170,000.00 / year; however base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and geographic location. Certain positions may also be eligible for short-term incentives as part of total compensation.

Employees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, and vision benefits. Employees are covered by the company-paid basic life insurance policy and company-paid short-term disability insurance (the benefit commences upon hire and allows for a portion of base salary for up to 26 weeks if you are disabled). Other benefits offered to employees include but are not limited to the following: long-term disability, supplemental life insurances, flexible spending accounts, critical illness insurance, group legal, identity theft protection, etc. Employees are also able to enroll in our 401k Retirement Savings Plan.

Employees will also receive 4 weeks of vacation, pro-rated based on date of hire for the 1st year of employment and twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Vacation will depend on role.
