Director Process Safety & Assurance

At Aurecon, we are optimistic about the future. We are thinkers, solvers, and collaborators who work with our clients to deliver the infrastructure and assets that strengthen communities and create a sustainable future.

What you’ll do

As a Director in our Process Safety Assurance team, based in Brisbane, Melbourne or Perth, you’ll play a key role in shaping the growth and future direction of our national practice. Bringing together strategic leadership, client influence and an understanding of high-hazard industries, you’ll lead our people, grow our market presence and help clients navigate complex safety, risk and assurance challenges.

In this role, you will:

·       Provide strategic leadership and direction for our Process Safety Assurance offering, helping shape its continued growth

·       Build trusted relationships with senior clients, using your networks and market knowledge to identify, shape and convert new opportunities

·       Lead and grow a collaborative, nationally connected team, providing mentoring, direction and opportunities for people to develop

·       Oversee complex client engagements and projects, ensuring the right capability is brought together to deliver strong client outcomes

·       Work with clients to understand their safety, risk, assurance and compliance challenges and connect them with the right expertise and solutions

·       Lead winning strategies, proposals and client conversations across high-hazard and complex operating environments

·       Collaborate across Aurecon to connect our Process Safety Assurance capability with opportunities across sectors, geographies and disciplines

·       Strengthen Aurecon’s presence in the market by building enduring relationships and contributing to the broader growth of our Asset Performance and Assurance business

What you’ll bring

·       Significant leadership experience within consulting, engineering and/or advisory industry or directly within  high-hazard industry

·       A demonstrated ability to build senior client relationships, develop opportunities and win work, supported by a strong professional network

·       A sound understanding of how high-hazard industries manage safety, risk, assurance and compliance, without necessarily being a specialist process safety practitioner

·       An appreciation of safety across the whole asset lifecycle, from front end design to operations and decommissioning.

·       Experience leading, mentoring and developing people, with the ability to bring teams together and create an environment where people can do their best work

·       Strong commercial and consulting acumen, with experience shaping opportunities and delivering successful client outcomes

·       The credibility and confidence to engage with senior clients, understand complex business challenges and provide strategic direction

·       Experience overseeing complex projects or portfolios and coordinating multidisciplinary expertise

·       Strong communication, influencing and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across a geographically dispersed team

·       Experience across sectors such as oil and gas, power, resources, chemicals, petrochemicals, water, renewables, nuclear, infrastructure or other high-hazard environments would be highly regarded

·       A relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, science, risk, safety or a related discipline
