We are seeking an experienced compliance professional to join us as Deputy MLRO, supporting the MLRO in maintaining a strong AML/CFT framework and ensuring continuous regulatory coverage.

About the Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced AML and compliance professional to serve as Deputy MLRO.
The role will support the MLRO in the day-to-day operation of the AML/CFT programme and act in the MLRO’s capacity during periods of absence.
The successful candidate must have strong knowledge of local AML/CFT requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Deputy MLRO & AML/CFT Duties

Act as Deputy MLRO and provide full MLRO coverage during the MLRO’s absence.

Support the MLRO in maintaining the Company's AML/CFT framework and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Review internal suspicious activity escalations and support decisions on regulatory disclosures and STR filings.

Support preparation and submission of regulatory reports, as required.

Oversee and support transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, customer risk assessments, EDD and PEP reviews.

Assist with investigations involving higher-risk customers, transactions and crypto-related financial crime typologies.
Regulatory & Governance Support

Support engagement with the regulator and other relevant regulatory or law-enforcement authorities.

Monitor regulatory developments affecting virtual assets and financial crime compliance.

Assist with regulatory inspections, audits, information requests and remediation activities.

Support preparation of AML and compliance reporting for senior management and governance committees.
Compliance Programme Support

Assist with maintaining AML/CFT, KYC, CDD, EDD, sanctions and transaction-monitoring policies and procedures.

Conduct compliance monitoring, control testing and gap assessments.

Support maintenance of compliance manuals, risk assessments, registers and regulatory records.

Provide practical compliance guidance to business and operational teams.
Regional Compliance Support

Provide regional compliance support reviewing AML/TM/Escalations from Compliance Operations teams

Work closely with regional and global Compliance teams to ensure consistent application of OKX financial crime standards.

Support cross-border investigations and customer-risk matters where required.
What We Look For in You
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business or a related field.

Professional AML or compliance certification such as CAMS, ICA or equivalent is preferred.

Experience
-
At least 5 + years of experience in AML, financial crime or regulatory compliance within a regulated financial institution, fintech, payments or virtual asset business.

Previous experience as a Deputy MLRO, or senior AML professional is highly desirable.

Experience handling suspicious activity investigations, transaction monitoring, sanctions, EDD and regulatory reporting.

Experience working with regulators or supporting regulatory examinations.
-
Crypto or virtual asset compliance experience is highly desirable.
Knowledge & Skills
-
Strong understanding of AML/CFT requirements, FATF standards and financial crime risks associated with virtual assets.

Familiarity with blockchain analytics tools such as Chainalysis, Elliptic or TRM Labs is advantageous.

Strong investigative, analytical and decision-making skills.
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-
Business language proficiency in English, Russian & Kazakh.

High integrity, sound judgement and the ability to operate independently.
Nice to Have
-
Experience within a crypto exchange or virtual asset service provider.

Experience with regional or multi-jurisdictional AML programmes.

Knowledge of compliance technology, transaction monitoring and blockchain analytics tools.
