The University of Miami/UHealth Department of SCCC has an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Data Analyst 3 to work at the UHealth medical campus in Miami, Florida.

CORE JOB SUMMARY
The Data Analyst 3 performs advanced data analysis using various techniques. This role determines best practices and develops actionable insights and recommendations for the current business operations or issues. Key responsibilities include advanced business data interpretation, such as identifying trends or patterns of complex data sets, and designing of complex databases and dashboards data to optimize statistical efficiency and quality.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
-Performs advanced data analysis using various techniques, e.g. statistical analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling, data mining.
-Determines best practices and develops actionable insights and recommendations for the current business operations or issues.
-Performs ad-hoc analyses and reporting, to aid management in the decision-making process. Builds dashboards or reporting systems for end users and designs predictive modeling or other data mining capabilities.
-Designs and develops complex databases and dashboards data to optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
-Provides advanced business data interpretation, such as identifying trends or patterns of complex data sets. May handle special analytical projects as needed.Provides support and training to applicable staff regarding data management and use.
-Locate and define new process improvement opportunities; proactively identify opportunities to enhance data collection, quality and accessibility.
-Develops and implements systems to capture business operation information.
-Acts as a subject matter expert and advises less experienced analysts.
-Locates and defines new process improvement opportunities; proactively identifies opportunities to enhance data collection, quality and accessibility.
-Defines data elements and establishes policies and procedures related to the collection, accuracy, quality, security, and maintenance of data.
-Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required

Experience:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience required

DEPARTMENT SPECIFICS

The Data Analyst Manager for the SCCC Office of Population Sciences is responsible for the oversight, integrity, quality, and operational management of all Population Sciences research data. This position ensures accurate, timely, and compliant data collection, tracking, reporting, and system management across the entire Population Sciences research portfolio. The Data Analyst Manager serves as the central authority for data quality, governance, and alignment of reporting with institutional and NCI requirements, and will also manage a team of Data Specialists. 

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall oversight and management of the SCCC Population Sciences research data portfolio

• Ensure data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and integrity across all data management systems 
• Ensure compliance with institutional policies (e.g., REDCap Data Policy, Population Sciences Data Collection and Reporting Policy) and NCI reporting requirements

• Oversee data entry, validation, maintenance, and quality control activities within Velos, REDCap, and other institutional research data systems.
• Oversee real-time tracking of participant accruals across all active Population Sciences protocols 

• Support preparation and validation of data for NCI RPPR, CCSG and other mandated reporting requirements

• Proactively monitor data quality and completeness, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to ensure reliable reporting.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for data-related requests from investigators, study teams, and operational leadership.
• Collaborate closely with Regulatory, Quality Assurance team to ensure data consistency and alignment

• Manage and provide monthly dashboards and reports on participant accruals, study activity, portfolio metrics and data quality to SCCC Population Sciences leadership.
• Identify opportunities to improve data management processes, reporting capabilities, and operational efficiency through continuous process improvement.
