You are intellectually curious, highly organized, and flexible, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and shifting priorities. This role offers meaningful ownership and broad exposure across the tax function, providing a strong opportunity to build depth and breadth of experience in a high-growth environment.

This is a hybrid position that has the minimum expectation to work out of our Downtown Seattle Office two days per week on Mondays and Thursdays. For this reason, candidates must be based in the Greater Seattle Area or willing to relocate.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Assist with computing and reviewing the worldwide tax provision for quarterly and annual reporting

  • Assist in managing tax audits and controversy

  • Support transfer pricing implementation and documentation

  • Act as a strategic business partner by assisting with implementation of tax planning opportunities, process improvements, and risk minimization processes

  • Assist with monitoring current and proposed US and foreign tax law changes to identify and assess impact on the organization

  • Support tax projects, as needed

  • Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or a Master’s degree in Tax

  • 6+ years of progressive experience in public accounting and/or corporate tax department

  • Deep technical knowledge of corporate federal and state income tax, as well as accounting for income taxes under ASC 740

  • Ability to research tax issues, interpret guidance, and effectively communicate the impacts to inform business decisions

  • Strong attention to detail, with excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in manipulating large data sets

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Your Bonus Skills:

  • Licensed CPA

  • Experience with transfer pricing concepts

  • Experience in M&A due diligence and / or post-close integration

  • Exposure to U.S. international tax concepts

  • Experience with Corptax Provision or other provision software

  • Benefits of working for Rover:

  • Competitive compensation

  • 401k match

  • Long-term incentive plan with a company performance-based cash payout

  • Commuter benefits

  • Bring your dog to work (and unlimited puppy time)

  • Pet benefits, including $1000 toward adopting your first dog or cat

  • Stocked fridges, coffee, soda, and lots of treats (for humans and dogs) and free catered lunches monthly

  • Regular team activities performed in-person and virtually

  • Compensation:

  • In the greater Seattle area the first-year salary range is $125,000-$160,000. Additionally, Rover offers benefits to full-time employees.
