Behind every laboratory result is a team dedicated to accuracy, efficiency, and patient care. As a Laboratory Support Coordinator, you will play an essential role in ensuring specimens, information, and testing requests move through the laboratory safely and seamlessly.

Clinical Laboratory Technician I:
The starting annual salary for this position is $52,694 and this will include an additional geographic differential of $2.20/hr and an additional assignment differential of $4.00/hr. You will also have a full comprehensive benefits package.

OR

Clinical Laboratory Technician II:
The starting annual salary for this position is $59,049 and this will include an additional geographic differential of $2.20/hr and an additional assignment differential of $4.00/hr. You will also have a full comprehensive benefits package.

What You'll Do:
Receive, process, and accurately document clinical and research specimens arriving in the laboratory.
Ensure laboratory samples are properly accessioned, prepared, and routed to the appropriate testing areas.
Support the timely distribution of laboratory reports through a variety of communication methods.
Respond to requests related to laboratory reports, specimen tracking, and testing information by phone, email, mail, and other communication channels.
Maintain accurate records and documentation to support laboratory operations and compliance requirements.
Assist with laboratory quality control, quality assurance, and routine equipment maintenance activities.
Monitor laboratory supply levels and help coordinate ordering and inventory management.
Collaborate with laboratory professionals and other departments to support efficient workflows and excellent service.
Help identify and resolve issues that could impact turnaround times, testing processes, or customer service.

Qualifications:

Clinical Laboratory Technician I:
Required Education and Experience
License Requirement

1. License to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technician or Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the State of New York; or
2. Eligibility for licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technician in the State of New York.

Education and Experience
Associate's degree in Medical Technology or a related health care discipline.

NOTES:
1. License to practice as a Certified Histological Technician in the State of New York may be accepted in lieu of the licensure requirement found in “1” above for positions assigned to the Histology Service; or
2. Eligibility for licensure as a Certified Histological Technician in the State of New York may be accepted in lieu of the licensure eligibility requirement found in “2” above for those positions assigned to the Histology Service.
3. As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain and maintain the required licensure within six (6) months of their appointment to this title.
4. Possession of the Clinical Laboratory Technician licensure supersedes educational requirements listed above, as stated in section 58-1.5 (e) of the NYS Codes, Rules and Regulations.
5. Possession of the Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure supersedes educational requirements listed above, as stated in section 58-1.5 (b) of the NYS Codes, Rules and Regulations.
6. Degrees must be conferred by an accredited school, college, or university, or by an institution recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and/or Health Research Incorporated as adhering to acceptable educational standards.

OR

Clinical Laboratory Technician II:
Required Education and Experience
License Requirement
1. License to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technician or Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the State of New York; or.
2. Eligibility for licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technician in the State of New York.

Education and Experience
Associate's degree in Medical Technology or related health care discipline and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience as a Clinical Laboratory Technician.

NOTES:
1. License to practice as a Certified Histological Technician in the State of New York may be accepted in lieu of the licensure requirement found in “1” above for positions assigned to the Histology Service; or
2. Eligibility for licensure as a Certified Histological Technician in the State of New York may be accepted in lieu of the licensure eligibility requirement found in “2” above for those positions assigned to the Histology Service.
3. As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain and maintain the required licensure within six (6) months of their appointment to this title.
