Job Role: Claims Support

Compensation range: $1,500 AUD - $2,000 AUD / Monthly

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Who The Client Is: Our client is an established Australian insurance brokerage supporting both commercial and domestic clients across a broad range of general insurance needs. The team is known for providing practical, personalised advice and responsive support throughout the policy and claims process. With a strong focus on accuracy, communication and long-term client relationships, they work closely with clients and insurers to deliver reliable insurance solutions.

Role Overview: We’re looking for an experienced Claims Support professional to join an Australian insurance broking team. This is not an entry-level insurance administration role, you’ll need genuine, hands-on experience with claims lodgement and management across both commercial and domestic claims, including liaising with our Account Brokers, insurers and other stakeholders throughout the claims lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the Claims Handling as well as hands-on experience using Insight broking platforms and Insurers Claims Portals. Strong attention to detail, organisation and client communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and step into the role with minimal training on the fundamentals.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Handle and support claims lodgement and management from initial notification through to resolution.
• Liaise directly with our Account Brokers and insurers throughout the claims lifecycle, providing updates and responding to enquiries.
• Prepare, review and maintain claims-related documentation and correspondence.
• Follow up insurers, assessors and other relevant parties to ensure claims progress in a timely manner.
• Liaise directly with our Claims Management Team and interpret policy wordings, Product Disclosure Statements (PDS) and other insurance documentation to support claims handling.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date claims records within broking systems.
• Identify missing information or documentation and coordinate with clients to obtain what is required.
• Provide administrative and operational support to the broader broking team as required.
• Ensure all claims activities and client communications are handled accurately, professionally and within required timeframes.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience with claims lodgement and claims management, covering both commercial and domestic claims.
• Experience managing client correspondence and communication throughout the claims lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience using Insight, or similar insurance broking platforms.
• A sound understanding of insurance policy wordings and PDS documents.
• Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to accurately manage claims information, documentation and records.
• Strong client communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, professionally and empathetically with clients during the claims process.
• Strong follow-up and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple claims and priorities.
• The ability to work independently while keeping clients, brokers and other stakeholders appropriately updated.
