At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We're building reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join a diverse team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight.

As part of our Supply Chain team, you will independently manage the full procurement lifecycle for spaceflight systems — from requisition through final payment — and develop supplier relationships that support program execution. This position directly impacts space exploration history and requires commitment, sound judgment, and a drive to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Own the end-to-end procurement process for assigned commodities and programs — requisition creation, sourcing, negotiation, award, execution, and invoice resolution

- Lead RFP/RFQ issuance and source selection activities independently; evaluate proposals on price, schedule, technical capability, and risk

- Develop and execute negotiation strategies for routine and moderately complex procurements; lead negotiations and document outcomes

- Manage active supplier relationships for assigned supply base; track delivery and quality performance, escalate risks proactively, and drive corrective actions

- Support the development and execution of Long-Term Agreements (LTAs) and other strategic agreements under direction of senior buyers or commodity leads

- Ensure full compliance with FAR/DFAR, SOX, and Blue Origin procurement policies; maintain accurate and auditable procurement records

- Partner cross-functionally with engineering, finance, and program teams to anticipate requirements and resolve procurement roadblocks

- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives; identify and recommend process or system improvements

- Support and mentor Buyer I team members as needed

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field, plus 2–5 years of procurement or supply chain experience; or Master's degree plus 1–2 years

- Demonstrated experience independently leading RFQ/RFP processes and supplier negotiations

- Working knowledge of contract types (FFP, T&M, cost-plus) and when to apply them

- Strong analytical skills; able to perform cost analysis and develop data-driven sourcing recommendations

- Solid understanding of FAR/DFAR compliance requirements; experience with SOX-compliant procurement preferred

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to program stakeholders

- Proven ability to manage a high-volume workload, prioritize competing demands, and meet deadlines

- Able to earn trust, build positive professional relationships, and contribute to an inclusive team culture

- U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee/asylee

Desired:

- CSCP, CPSM, or equivalent supply chain certification

- Experience with AS9100 or aerospace/defense supply chain environments

- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Costpoint, or similar)

- Experience in Avionics or other complex manufactured commodities
