About Tin Can

Tin Can is building a safer, simpler way for kids to connect — without smartphones. We’re creating screen-free, delightful devices and services that let families call the people who matter most, free from the noise of today’s digital world.

We’re building a bold, authentic, nostalgic, and kinda quirky brand that resonates with folks who want something simpler & better for their kids than the tech-infused lives we’re currently living (and who have a sense of humor about it). As we gear up to scale to thousands of families, we’re ready to bring on a Brand Marketing Manager to help make it happen.

The Role

We're looking for a Brand Marketing Manager who's just as happy staring at a blank whiteboard dreaming up something delightful as they are staring at a Gantt chart making sure that idea actually happens. You'll report to our Head of Brand Strategy & Communications and work closely and collaboratively with teams across the company.

This isn't a "take the brief and go" role. We want someone with real creative judgment, someone who gets Tin Can, relishes the weird and wonderful challenge we're up against, and feels how lucky we are to be handing kids the chance to build real, meaningful connections. You'll help us decide who we team up with, how we bring product moments to life (online and IRL), and how we keep parents and kids engaged in unexpected ways.

You're a big thinker and a doer in equal measure. Building the workback plan delights you almost as much as pitching the idea that needed one. You write clearly, you communicate constantly, and you know an idea is only as good as its execution. If you keep a mental file of what iconic, boundary-pushing brands do right, get energy from doing five different things before 11am, don't need hand-holding, and take real pride in the follow-through — we should definitely get on the phone.

What You'll Do

  • Partnerships & collaborations. Bring us the unexpected, brand-true partnership ideas we haven't thought of yet, and go build relationships with the people and companies who share our values. You know what's right for Tin Can on instinct, and you move on it.

  • Project management & campaign coordination. Keep every brand initiative on track across a dozen moving pieces — timelines, stakeholders, the works — so things get from brief to launch without a single dropped ball. You're the glue between creative and strategy, and you help us hit aggressive deadlines with gusto!

  • Campaign briefs. Turn our best ideas into briefs that lay out the why, how, and what clearly enough that creative work has a strategic foundation before it ever hits production.

  • Brand influencers. Manage our top-tier celebrity and influencer relationships and turn our most high-profile customers into our loudest advocates. Find new, authentic ways to pull them into our world.

  • Brand stewardship. You are the Tin Can brand out in the world — newsletter, partner decks, campaign assets, all of it — making sure the experience feels like us whether it's someone's first touchpoint or their one-hundred-and-sixty-seventh.

  • Reporting & tracking. Own the post-campaign wrap-up across your world; what worked, what didn't, and why, so we're always getting sharper.

What We're Looking For

  • 4–6 years of marketing experience, ideally at a consumer brand, DTC startup, or agency with consumer clients. You've had your hands in enough of the marketing mix to know what good looks like, and you're always thinking up new ways to do it well.

  • Strong writing and verbal skills. Everything from a cold outreach email to a campaign brief sounds like it came from the same brand. You’re not necessarily a copywriter but you’re not not good at copywriting.

  • A creative point of view. You get us, and you have real opinions on how we show up in the world. You know what's cool, and you never forget we're talking to two audiences at once: parents and kids.

  • Brand, brand, brand. You get why it matters more than almost anything else here, and you take real ownership over how we evolve and grow it.

  • Comfort with celebrity and partnership work. You've navigated brand-partner relationships before and know how to keep a conversation moving. Even better: you already have a running list of ideas for our growing roster of famous Tin Can households.

  • Serious project management instincts. You build the tracker, set the deadline, and chase people down without being asked twice.

  • A collaborative, low-ego approach. You'll be in and out of every function constantly — trust is as much a part of the job as taste is.

  • An ownership mindset. Helping build Tin Can's brand marketing function from here is genuinely exciting to you.

  • Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward action. The playbook's still being written. We need someone who sees that as the fun part.

If the idea of shaping the Tin Can brand at a genuinely pivotal moment gives you butterflies, we want to hear from you!
