As an Associate Counsel at Compass International Holdings, you work on exciting matters that require proactive legal guidance. You're part of a group of talented in-house lawyers and the projects you work on challenge you to think creatively and constructively. You are energetic and collaborative -- ready to partner in initiatives that influence all aspects of the business and work with employees and agents across the company. Your contributions will be impactful, value driven, and you will play an instrumental role on the Compass International Holdings Legal Team.
At Compass International Holdings You Will:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of routine and mission-critical customer contracts (including agent independent contractor agreements and non-disclosure agreements) that support and enable our business operations
- Interpret contractual terms and identify associated risks to relevant business stakeholders
- Collaborate with various business teams at Compass (including sales, sales leadership, regional leadership, growth, finance, and product and engineering) -- advising on legal issues, approval processes, Compass policies and procedures, and business strategy in a business-friendly manner
- Support the continuous improvement of standard form agreements and legal processes (including automation efforts), with an emphasis on efficiency and scalability
- Participate in the maintenance of various contracts to ensure compliance with Compass policies and risk tolerance
- Provide first line of defense in dispute resolution
What We Look For:
- Strong academic credentials including a JD and membership in good standing in at least one state bar (NY bar a plus)
- 2+ years of top-tier law firm and/or in-house experience with a focus on corporate matters
- Background in contract drafting and negotiation
- Confidence operating in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with superior organizational skills
- A creative thinker with strong problem solving skills and the ability to stay calm, work independently, and effectively manage multiple deliverables with time-sensitive deadlines
- A team player with low ego who can effectively work with other attorneys and colleagues
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and an ability to clearly and simply explain complex ideas
- Familiarity and comfort in utilizing AI
Compensation:
The base pay range for this position is $150,000-$170,000 annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Bonuses and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of benefits. Base pay is based on market location. Minimum wage for the position will always be met.
