Job Description:

TD's Automated Execution Group (AEG) is a front office business unit with mandate to grow and service the electronic trading needs of the dealer. AEG is responsible for soliciting new business, managing relationships and all operational and technological support for TD's institutional equity and option trading clients. AEG is also responsible for the order management and supervision of TD's electronic retail orders, including enforcement of best execution and manual trader intervention. As TD's Direct Market Access (DMA) and Algorithmic equity/option trading group, AEG offers expertise in advanced electronic tools including smart order routing, Trade Cost Analysis (TCA) and low latency connectivity.

The candidate will be primarily responsible for trading coverage across both institutional and retail clients. The candidate should be familiar with equity trading in the Canadian marketplace, and be able to hand large quantities of time-sensitive orders in a high pressure environment. Candidate should also be very comfortable and have experience with managing relationships and speaking with both external clients and internal stake holders over the phone and in person. Most days are not routine.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

The specific tasks will include, but are not limited to, the following:

·         Order management and supervision for both institutional and retail order flow

·         Managing existing institution client relations to facilitate organic growth

·         Facilitate timely and accurate allocation of trades to client accounts

·         Design and implement front-office solutions to optimize trading operations

·         Conduct SOR modeling and quantitative TCA research using Python scripting and ONETICK tick data

·         Conduct market structure research and analysis by leveraging data from Bloomberg, various EMS systems and internal databases

·         Coordinate with various groups (middle office, back office, technology, clients and vendors) in resolving technical and settlement issues in trading operations

Job Requirements

Candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, demanding and fluid environment and expect both routine and ad hoc priority requests.  Experience with and knowledge of Direct Market Access, Smart Order Routing, Canadian equity market structure, execution algorithms as well as clearing and settlement if preferred

Technical Qualifications:

·         Strong familiarity with Excel functions and tools is a MUST

·         Scripting experience in VBA and SQL is a MUST

·         Electronic trading experience is preferred

·         Experience with Python scripting and working with tick data is a plus

·         Background in quantitative and statistical analysis is a plus

Other Qualifications

·         Certified for Equity and Options trading in both Canada and the US

·         Strong communication skills and attention to detail are a MUST

·         Able to communicate and work effective with both internal and external stakeholders

·         Highly-motivated and able to work independently in a proactive manner

·         Able to work in a fast-paced environment

Additional Information

·         Graduate degree in Finance, Mathematics, or Computer Science

·         Canadian and US, equities and derivatives certifications including: CSC, CPH, TTC, DFOL, Series 7, Series 63 and Series 57
